I have done many cedar shake roofs and in some cases have turn them down. What most people don't realize about shake roofs is it isn't the shingle that protects the roof but the felt, the shingle protects the felt and then there is the wood look people like. I cleaned this roof and will have after pictures once all the dead moss is off.

What a disaster...I can't wait to see the after pictures...don't forget to post them.

One would think the felt paper is peppered with thousands of nail holes from each shingle being nailed on? Ice and snow guard seals around each nail but felt paper doesn't?
