Downspout diversion?

I tend to think that you you are on top of things and keep the runnoff diluted you should have no problems. Many pools down here are emptied by means of a sump pump and still run fine. Just keep it diluted real good.

Sump pumps are def not chem resistant. But you won't kill it. You should add a scent to mask the sh so you don't fill the basement with sh fumes. Maybe open a basement window and run a fan. Last thing you want is the customer choking on fumes and calling hazmat.

First off its a shingle roof right? How the heck much runoff can you have? Run your garden hoses wide open in the gutters. Heck by the time its diluted that much you could probably drink it. If you think its gonna be that much of a problem then just disconnect the down spouts like you said earlier and collect it and move on to the next job. Who the heck connects their gutters like this anyway? That sounds nuts.

I am doing the job this week and I stopped this job today. The reason I was concerned about runoff is because of the steap pitch of the roof. I am going to use my guttercanes and dilute the heck out of it and hope for the best! I was concerned about the soap in my mix going into the sump pump pit and creating bubbles prior to being pumped out. I guess I will just have to keep monitoring it in the basement. Thanks again for the input.

OK Eric, I'll give you that one. It is steep. I still don't get the whole sump pump thing being connected to the gutters. gary is right...Hahaha, Hope the power don't go out during a big storm.

Just disconnect the darn things and leave them off. Tell the customer they can reconnect them after 2-3 real good rain rinses and they can go back to hoping their basement doesn't flood.

Just rinse the roof. I rinse all my roofs anyway. Had some run off problems in the heat so we tube everything from the downspouts off property. But if you rinse there will be no issue with the sub pump.
