Towards the end of my last job yesterday, our pump was shutting off and even prior to it shutting off, I felt like we weren't getting as much distance as we should have.
The power switch to turn the pump on or off seemed to be the culprit as if we held the power switch in the on position, it would kick back on, but there was still a serious loss of pressure. Nothing was corroding, but the actual toggle switch felt like there was extra play in it.
I need to replace this switch, but could is this most likely the culprit for a loss of distance, too? I'm only getting about 20' and we are running 200' of 1/2" hose all the way around.

Amperage (current) is carried by the whole chain, that is only as strong as it's weakest link!
Battery was Just charges prior to the job, but I'll check that just in case. How long do marine batteries normally last? Thanks for the help, I'm just glad we were able to finish our work for the day.

I have NO clue. Mine has been hooked up now going on 3yrs and is wired so that my truck is always charging it. I have never run it down or had it die on me. Plus I only use it for my 5850 which is only for transfering chems from tank to tank. Although,,, I have been using it to jump start one of my PW'er motors ever since the battery in that died and I'm too lazy to go get another one. LOL

They'll last for years if you take care of them. BUT, if they drop a cell (2+volts), it's game over as far as using them for a high amp pump.
If you have a multimeter, check to ensure you have a clean short from connection to connection and that you're not seeing any high resistance to indicate a faulty connection. Same goes for your switch.
