She's gonna be beeeyoooteeeful!!! Then we'll take her to work with us and scratch the heLL out of her new finish. Oh well, she's a work truck and that's what happens to them.
When " Bertha " is up and working, watch your step in and out of the back. The " love " makes floors a lil slick, going up and down could cause you to fall.....and it hurts, keep it in the backl of your head.
I have painted a few trucks and cars over the years , vehicle paint has gotten extremely expensive . Work trucks need a clean neat professional looking appearence. All my work trucks are white , the paint rust-o-lum , not spray bombs . I simply scuff down the truck , wipe it with thinner , do minimal body work ,tape it off cut the paint 2 parts paint and 1 part mineral spirits , spray outside on a warm sunny day . They come out pretty good , paint job lasts about 3 years before it dulls out , and is scratched anyway by this time . An entire paint job is less than $75.00 in materials . Usually done in a day . A repaint the same color in half the time . They arent flawless , but look great from 25 feet , or 25 miles per hour. I plow in the winter , and what the customer sees is a clean one color truck that they are paying $xxx.xx per hour for . Not the multi color rust and bondo machine the truck truly is .
Here's a sneak peek. While we've done a little of everything, but we still haven't completed anything. She's carrying a Flojet with 200' of 1/2" hose and a generic tip. She also has a Fatboy with 200' of 3/4" hose and a Bandit setup from Pressure Tek (thanks Bob) with 40's. Both systems can run simultaneously from the same battery and we will tie that battery in with the vehicle's charging system. The 225 gallon mix tank will be turned sideways and other changes will occur in the near future, but these pictures will give you the basic idea. She can also be viewed on Ebay. NOT!!!!!!

Also looking at a Uhaul but bigger because I'm going to be putting my PW equipment also. My concern is the weight on the floor withh 450 to 500 gallons of liquid. The 3 tanks would be located just behind the cab. Anybody have any thought on this?

looking good Art, congrats ... that truck is gonna make you a lot of money!!!
My stepson owns a body shop, so replacing the doors, hood, and cowl and painting it was $600. ($300 for paint & supplies, $300 to the painter, and then I threw my stepson $200 'cause he's a good guy. The parts were $200 at the Cape Fear Pick & Pull and I later returned for a $50 bumper.) I still have 1/2 gallon of paint left. The wrap & letters cost about $500. I cut the bottom skirts off my self so there was no charge and the black spray paint, masking tape & cold adult beverages to make the gray parts black set me back about $40. Then there were a few dollars worth of dog biscuits to make sure I stayed on the guard dog's "good" side.
It was kind of funny watching guys who work on contemporary cars everyday work on a 21 year old work truck. They do high end work and I had to constantly remind them that it will get beat up pretty bad while we work out of it so it doesn't need the same attention to detail as a Mercedes or BMW. They came through though, I have the best looking work truck in Wilmington, NC and now it's doing some roof cleaning and soft washing.
