Wow Aaron you must be a superstar in this biz if you've got paparazzi!
But seriously, regarding Larrys post, if a customer is filming/documenting the whole process they're prob setting you up for a potential lawsuit if anything isn't to their liking!
Ding sing ding. We have a winner. Lol... One was actually doing it for just that reason. His wife was worried that something may go wrong. Funny story. It started thundering and lightning while were working. Raining like cats and dogs. The rest of my crew went and sat in the truck. I kept working. His wife wouldn't let him in the house till we were done. The guy was soaked and scared to death with the lighting.
The other one waso just a freak. Lol. While I was working on the driveway my helper was doing the pool area in the back yard. The guy kept running back and forth taping both of us.
I would want to walk away, but, once you have agreed to do the work and started, she may be able to sue you? If she's a pain now, she may be a bigger pain, if she wants a free roof cleaning-which she could end up with if she sues you. I'd be careful! I have walked off of a couple of jobs, because of "PEST" customers, whom I suspected may be hard to satisfy, but that was "BEFORE" I did any work. On one, I set the ladder etc up and even got on the roof. She had been pestering me, but when she said "I'm going to watch everything you do and if I don't like anything, you won't get paid" I said, "I suspect you won't pay period" I told my son to load everything back up and lets go do a paying job.

You got paid right? That is exactly why I hate when I have an audience, those that will refer will refer and those that watch are usually freaky people that nobody likes and they may have intentions on find any reason for you not to get paid. I always get a signature and payment first if I get a funky vibe from a customer. No Pay No Spray...

I feel ya, I hate when someone drives over your hoses, even when you tell them prior to starting they need to stay inside during the cleaning and also ask if they need to move the car out of the garage before you start then they do it any ways after you bring everything out. I had someone tell me the other day can you clean my roof without using bleach. I said NO but I can use SH which we know its the same thing. I sent them the 2 TD's I had and explained it to them and said to make a decision and if they choose some one else no problem. I got an email the next day asking if I could put them on my schedule, worked I guess.
Dealing with PITA customers is just part and parcel of being in a service business. Usually if you just do your job, they go away. But sometimes they make life a living hell. I had a nightmare guy last year who just reappeared to haunt me...
Did a crawlspace encapsulation Job for a couple who were selling their house. Completed the job and got a call from the new owner...he wanted mold clearance testing done. We did so, tests came back clean. Two months later, I get an e-mail from the guy claiming we contaminated the entire house and he couldn't stay there. We offered to retest at our cost...tests came back clean. Inspected everything...clean. Gave him the results. He calls a thermographer to prove we put water in the walls...nothing. He rips the floor out saying we must have put mold in the floors. Nothing. We said it was clean. A month goes by, we sends me more e-mails...could the government have put something in his HVAC ducts? Could there be a mold that only blooms at night? Crazy stuff. I calmly tell him no.
Another month passes...he files a complaint with the BBB, says I contaminated his house, he is retaining a lawyer and wants me to buy the house from him. I promptly reply with the clearance tests and attach the crazy letters he sent. BBB finds in my favor. Another month...he puts the house on the market, he is moving to Utah...can we test AGAIN? I agree at an elevated rate...tests come back clear. House eventually sells.
Three days ago, he calls me, tells me he bought another house in town and wanted to know if we can sell him an high grade air purification system we sell since he was starting to have problems in his new house. It was easy money. All I had to do was bring out a demo unit and prove it passes the Air Particle Counter Test we use and he'd buy it. A quick $400 profit. I Agreed. Then I slept on it. I called him back yesterday and told him we did not wish to do any further business with him. I slept very well last night!
