i took my camera but it was out of juice so i apologize for not having pics ... i did a demo this weekend near a downspout that emptied out onto the roof and when i checked it this morning the "stains" were still there. i figured that since the love was heavily diluted with ammo from a house i did earlier in the day, it just wasn't strong enough. i mixed 50/50 in a pump up and this time i was right next to the shingles, and the black stuff wouldn't come out. i've never seen it before (not that i have a huge sample size) and i can't tell if it's granule loss, tar, or if somebody is just out to make my monday morning more miserable than it already was? ... again sorry for not having pics but hopefully somebody knows what i'm talking about.

Sure sorry, what I do is I keep a couple cans of spray paint on the truck with the usual colors black,grey,brown,green..etc. I get the paint { metalic } from the auto parts store. A situation like that { asphalt shingles } I give a lite spray not heavy....a quick hit just to help it blend in...making it " LESS " noticable. To heavy it will look bad.....got to get it just right.I always inform the customer I am doing it....just in big spots.

If it is granule loss caused by the downspout isn't that going to wipe out your spray paint job pretty quick?? Paint wont stick to tar or asphalt for long.
