Looking good Jose. Are you hitting that ridge from the ladder you have setup?

Thanks.. No I had to bring another ladder to the roof in between the two slopes.. My pump kept losing pressure though I don't know why, when I was on to of the ladder on the roof my pressure would fluctuate up and down constantly.. Any ideas I'm running a delavan 5850..

The higher up you go the harder it has to pump it to the top. Maybe a Fatboy would help or a product Ed from New Jersey turned me onto from Bob.

hi jose, i'm new myself and run the 5850, the ridge from the ladder is gonna be tough to hit ... assuming this church will require more distance than most roofs you'll be doing? i've only done about 25 so far but haven't had any problems hitting the ridge from the ladder, PA has a lot of tall steep roofs too and the 5850 has met my needs this season.

i also had my pump fluctuate at first, i was getting up on the ladder, then starting my pump and it was just giving me constant problems. now i start it from the ground then work my way up the ladder ... not sure if it's a strange coincidence or if that's what solved the problem but it worked for me.

keep up the good work jose, b/t that church and this forum, you'll be an expert in no time.

also if you are gonna use the tsp be sure to dissolve it in hot water the night before.

Now Ed, I am doing it this week for sure. I hate to say it but cleaning roofs, yard work and plenty of women chasing me I have not had the chance yet. But this week for sure!

How many days should I wait before I rinse this roof?, I know that most of you guys let the rain do the rinse for you, but this is California it doesn't rain here 'till December ( maybe ) ..
The black stuff on the roof is turning like light brown thick dirt

With the 5850, Let it run back into your mix tank before the job.....it helps mix things up and primes your pump to get any and all air out, It has a hard time priming or repriming itself if your at the ridge and get any air in the line.

if you continue to spray and can't get the air out you might check your line and make sure you don't have a leak.

I always rinse my pump after every job. I think it last longer, that being said at each new job I run the pump and spray into a homer 5 gal bucket till all the air comes out of the line...then I head to the roof. Jose I say rinse when ever you want now....but a soft spray...not a blast rinse.

Why spray into a 5 gal bucket. You then have to do something with that solution. Simply put your hose end into your tank and let it run. No mess, No extra work, and a well mixed solution.

the church pastor was very impressed with the results and said that they will have me clean their roof every couple of years, this time they will be paying full price he said...

Wow dude,that's huge! So how many hours did you end up having in it? How much mix? How strong did you mix it? I would have made that 5hit hot as he77 just to get it done quicker.

well done Jose, great learning experience, costly one but you do what you have to do, hopefully they did the right thing and gave you something, if not that's an automatic entrance into the pearly gates ... now go make some $$$$$$$
