In 4 years I have only had 1 customer refer to me being certified. I still think it is a good thing, but please don't think that it is the only thing that you need to create a successful business.

That's fine Mike! That is completely up to you to spend it or keep it. Funny, when the certification was being discussed when there were officers of a corporation, no one was saying a word about a piece of paper that was going to cost way more than this one. Why do you have to post and rain on everyone's parade that is ether getting certified or going to get certified? Can't you leave these people alone? Let them have there day and spend what they want for what they want?
Start your own post about how you feel the certification is worthless but no need to post against it in all the posts about others getting certified.
You as well as a few others want to pretend that rood cleaning is some special trade that requires all sorts of special schooling, months maybe and many dollars to have some guy with a funny hat and a truck wrap shirt teach about cleaning 50,000 roofs.
I have been doing all phases of remodeling for 34 years. Do I know everything? No I don't, but I can take a bathroom to joists and studs, rebuild it w/o subs. (Just one example). A lot more to that then cleaning a roof. Can I pass the class A test in VA? Yes I can. Can most pass it? Yes they can if they can read and have the basic knowledge. That test is designed to make sure someone knows the basic codes and can find their way through the CABO book. In a similar way that is what the certification is doing.
I am not trying to pick a fight. Just let it go. We ALL know very well as to how you feel!

Glad to see this post. I hope you are treated better once you are finished and the post announcing you are certified doesn't have to be deleted! I think I'll wait until I've cleaned 50,000 roofs, then that might be enough to even get the blessing from the Roof God himself!
Wow, that post got deleted becuase i asked a simple question. Good God! My whole piont is how are we just giving certifications away without knowing if they know all the ins and outs of safe roof cleaning.
My piont was what wieght does this certification hold.
I was talking about the post that was moved into the premium section and then deleted at the request of Dave Oatey. Your post was deleted here but I have no clue who did it.

Brett before you came on here who did you call? Me, thats who and you picked my brain for an hour and then you signed up right.
When the corporation was getting organized the certification was going in the right direction where it would have held some wieght.
I dont need to start my own thread. Thanks
I never pretend that roof cleaning is a specialized trade becuase i know that even a dumb monkey can figure it out. But what i do know is how to market and seperate myself and company from the rest becuase of AC Locker.
Please stop thinking that just becuase i went throught ac's class that i am brainwashed becuase i am not i use what i can use from what he taught me and the rest goes to the trash can.
Lastly, I can do the same remodel my friend. I am an electrician and have a strong carpentry background so whats your piont.
