Phil,
Did you brush the gutters or are you spraying on and rinsing? I love F-13. I buy it 5 gallons at a time. I brush everything when I use it. I sell the service at a premium price and brush all gutters and downspouts as a result.
The only time I ever have any trouble with it is when I have mixed it up in a 5 gallon container to clean with and saved it for the next job. I don't know if it breaks down after it is mixed with water and is used to clean with, but sometimes I have to strengthen it or start a new batch. When I say the next job, I mean a few days later not a few hours. The most aggressive I have ever used it was 1 part F-13 to 2 parts water.
Brian, I'm not sure what the issue was, but I mixed it on site and per the instructions found online and experimented when I didn't get the results I was looking for. The product literally did nothing to the surfaces that I mentioned having trouble with, but worked amazingly the very first time.
I'm looking forward to trying it again this weekend, but will not charge extra for the service until I know if this was a coincidence or not..

Roof Cleaning and Pressure Washing in Anne Arundel County, and Howard County, Maryland
I have run into the same thing. This week Tuesday I did 2 house washes. The first one, the gutters came out great. The next one, I could not get the tiger stripes off. They lightened up, but were still there. The only thing I can think of is the quality of the gutter. What kind of paint was used on them, and how was it applied ? I always explain to the homeowner about the tiger stripes, and that we will do our best to get them clean.
Well... scrubing gutters....Uhh I was just like you guys last year.. I got permission on one house to experiment, I said I may take the paint off, he said go for it. I dont have any probs any more. may have to scrub more than once. That's usual.
New gutters, or scrubbed gutters, WOW! Really dresses the house up!
I like F13 better than the butyl based cleaners. It leaves the shine on the paint. I use about 25 percent cleaner to water. I had a couple stubborn ones where I brushed them once, re sprayed brushed again then hit it with house was mix while the product was still on. It did the trick.
I used PressureTek's F13 one day a few weeks ago and it worked flawlessly.. Then I tried it on 2 other jobs and it did not clean the streaks off the gutters at all, not even a tad.
The label said that the chemical can become separated or something at a certain temp, but this was not the case since we never reached these temps and stored the product properly.
Anyone else experience this or are there some gutters that nothing can help?
One gutter was really nasty and I didn't expect it to work, it didn't do anything. Another gutter was pure white except for stripes running down it, it did nothing. Then I tried it on the same house with just a few streaks on the other side of the house (older gutter that had not been replaced yet) and it didn't do anything again. I tried greased lightning on all of these surfaces and that didn't do it either.
Any thoughts on this? I'm looking for a product that really works and I'm just wondering what I am missing here. By the way, this isn't really a thread about what to use because I can search for that, it's more about why did this just stop working all of the sudden.
We do much more roof cleaning then softwashing, but I know plenty of people who have used F 13 from Pressure Tek in Ohio with good results.
Never in 20 years scrubbed a gutter. How BARBARIC!!!
really? what's your secret?
i used to go with f13 but now use purple $35 for 5 gallons, tax free in delaware which is 5 minutes from me
Read the post from the beginning.
what do you just spray and rinse? i'd think even with that you'd have to scrub?
This topic should not be on the open side, but rather the premiums side, we make money whitening gutters so why would you reveal to home owners how to clean their own gutters??
