We used a 10% SH mix. It turned out great. One concern is wether it was to strong of a mix. I really watered down the plants before, during and after but I always wondered if I was using to much SH. Do you need to tarp the shrubs?
Strange everyone here must have stale SH 5 gallons in a 50 mix kills all the plants here we use 2 gallons in a 50 mix and it cleans great.
I agree. 10% of a 12.5% SH cocentration????? Wow thats a lot. You will burn up grass and shrubs with that much - unless its really weak like Bill said.
We use about 2 gals of 12.5% per 100 gallon batch (plus detergent). Thats like 4 gals of regular bleach, which would be a 3-4% solution, which is all you need for green on vinyl....
Unless you watered like CRAZY, or there were no shrubs/grass, you may likely have burn problems in a week or so.....

Nah...you guys just have sissy moss, mold & mildew. Ours down here is the real deal!
Us too Scott All you have to do is simply WET the side of the house down first, then spray your mix. Presto, instant Dilution
Soffits can be a problem when soft washing IF too big a nozzle is used. Our quick change spray nozzles allow us to throttle down when cleaning soffits by going to almost a mist nozzle.
There has been a lot of 'attention' given lately to the non pressure cleaning of houses called Soft Washing, or softwashing. We have cleaned thousands of houses this way, just never made a big deal out of it. There was always much more money in doing roofs. I can do 2 roofs in the time it takes to softwash a house with screen room. But as competition has increased in the roof cleaning business, it has forced us to get more money from fewer customers. Seldom a day goes by now that we don't do any softwashing. It was stuff I used to farm out before, or just do to make our customers happy.

The SH I get here in SW Florida comes in to a busy pool store 1 or 2 times a week. It's very hot. But, a 10% mix is nothing!
I use a shingle roof mix of 35% when I do house walls etc. Yes, you have to rinse plants before / during and after, but it's fast and safe-if applied at a low volume.
Heck, a regular pressure washing machine downstream injector puts out more than that! [ About 12% ]

All of my pressure washing machine chemical injectors put out more than 10% and other than flower petals 10-15% is not going to damage any plant, as long as you water before and after.

Hey Chris, it was nice meeting you in Tampa. I have been reading a few post I have to tell you I'm getting overwhelm with info in a way its good and also it could be bad.I like to keep it simple for example.
1- Roof wash mixture is SH and Ammox, is that the way to go, there were a few post about added Tsp to the mixture for ex,
2-For a House wash I here down stream is the way to go? or is the roof wash mixture is the way to go?
I no people say what ever works for yourself. Again I'm new into the business I would like to keep it simple! Again you are the GodFather when it comes to this business.I would love any info you can send my way.
P.S. Again had a good time in Tampa unfortunately I couild only be there for one day,I here there will be a round table in the fall looking forward for that.
For a shingled roof: 25-35% Sodium Hypochlorite and 65% water. Add 1/4 -1/2 gallon ammonyx lo or dawn dish liquid [difference is the dawn will weaken the chlorine after a few days.
For Tile: 50% SH and 1/2 -1 gal Ammonyx or Dawn + 1-4 lbs TSP.
House wash: You can use a 10-20% shingled roof mix-if there are no plants or grass to damage. { No TSP it etches glass }
Otherwise, using a pressure washer is easier on all but roofs. A commercial pressure washer chemical injector puts out around 15%-18% SH. { Some injectors claim over 20% but I have about 15 of them and I have tested a half dozen at a time and the 20% on up all average 15% That's about as simple as I can make it.
