I was getting ready to clean a roof yesterday and my mix started shooting out of a part on my Titan Reel. Does anyone know if the part that the hose feeds in to is replaceable? It looks like it goes into the reel, and I can't tell if it is threaded or not.I am not talking about the swivel, this would be the other part where the hose connects.
This piece now has a huge hole rusted through all of the sudden.. I'm really hoping I don't need a new reel.

You need a new manifold, it broke where Titan Hose Reels are famous for breaking. Call your favorite distributor, order a replcement manifold. They are a PITA to install sometimes, you may need a gear puller to get the bearings out.
It sounds to me like your talking about the core??? Am I wrong?
If it is the core, then yes it can be replaced. Depending on the size of your real, it may not be worth replacing. the core usually runs about $90.00 or so for a 12in reel. The problem is that it is a huge PITA to remove and install the new one. For 2-$300.00 I would probably just replace it if thats the case.
Just called and left a message! Yep.....it is early for me!!! It is 8:50 am.
Please call when you get a moment. Please have the Titan model (can be recorded from metal tag on the side) and the serial number of the reel on hand to help with the diagnosis and remedy.
Hey guys and girls, when I looked at a parts diagram for a similar model, it looks like the part description says "Ell, 1/2 npt, SS." It is where the manifold is, so I guess I will probably just replace this if I can't replace that one little part. I don't have time to waste messing around trying to repair it. I would think this elbow is replaceable, but it's probably a mess with all of the SH that's been run through it.
Would it be a bad idea to bypass the reel until a new one gets shipped if I have to go that route?
Thanks for all of your replies. Lori, your line has been busy whenever I try to call you up!

I am glad you chose to upgrade from the stainless swivel to the poly swivel....NO CORROSION!!!!
The 1/2" street 45 in brass was a great idea on your part. I am glad you added it. It will prevent the hose from sticking straight out. Using the street 45 will help the hose to lay flat against the barrell of the reel!
Thanks for the help, Lori. I was going to purchase a new manifold, but I decided to purchase a new reel. Currently, I am bypassing the reel and going to work in 20 minutes! Too bad this happened at the worst time yesterday, but oh well.

Phil:
Good decision on your part. Good luck. These reel issues are a PITA. LOL
Oh yeah, good looking out Lori.

I have quick disconnects on all my hose reels, I only use them for storage of hose, I pull of the reel what I need then hook up direct. you really need to roll all hose off reels any way right?
