The price increase on shingles and prep to replace them is going up!
Customers with shingles need to really pay attention to this as the sticker shock will make them regret not taking care of the roof over their heads.
Here is a couple points of interest to educate them. Randy heard today that the price per sq. will probably end up @$100.00 a square for just the shingles alone by the end of the season this year.Consumers need a wake-up call on this. Seen a 10yr old roof being torn off today, nothing wrong , just dirty. eh no big deal.

Who wants to work with me to generate a news press release compiling this info for our readers for the .org site?
Roof replacements are our number #1 enemy as many never see the full lifetime and are prematurely replaced due to lack of education.
This is only one variable in the price increases, the hail storms in Kentucky are creating a shortage along with experts predicting 3 damaging hurricanes hitting the Gulf Coast of Florida. This info was given to Randy by the manufacturer rep at our supply house in Mi.
The questions is roof replacements are going to be the price of small cars and will need to be financed.
Does anyone know of a homeowner that buys a car and never washes it or changes the oil, just dump it and buy new when to gets too dirty? Need to draft a slogan for this metaphor. ( someone here used it, Chris T ?)
There are many factors that affect us in customer awareness & willingness to contract us, this I felt was one. I am going to incorporate it into our advertising.

The actual price per sq. of shingles is @ $75.00 for GAF timberline ,Tamko @ $70.00 for the shingles only this includes the new price increase going into effect on Monday.
I am thinking maybe we should put it in the open side for any customers to see, but I was thinking to put it together in a nice pdf so the premium members can print out and use over here first, then a press release on the new .org site, then a public release on the open side. (?) Trying to give us any edge we can to make push our sales up. we need to weigh the pros and cons as to adding it openly. Consumer awareness is good but if all our competition has the same info as us, then we lose that edge?? I don't know. Let me work on putting it into a consumer friendly news article and we can always post out there in a few days.

Your welcome guys, hope this will drive everyone's sales up!!
What do you think of this idea. Estimate the cost range to replace the roof and add that to the proposal as a comparison. "Pay $500 now to kill the algae and clean the roof or pay $5,000 later after the algae kills your roof."
