 I appreciate that, Art. I don't get in on the Talkshoe as much as I'd like to, but my wife usually beats me if I spend too much time online. I have to hide my obsession in between Quickbooks windows, lol.

Scott, for the record I don't LIKE arguing, I simply answer when I'm called out by name. As a matter of fact, I recently posted that I DIDN"T want to argue with you when you & Chuck were going at it. Think of me like the rattler on the old flag that says "Don't Tread On Me." You can't find a single post on this forum where I have provoked trouble because, just like Rodney King, I want to get along. But just like that rattler, I'm not a doormat. As far as logic and Chris go, it is a moot point. It's his board. He can attack whomever he sees fit. He can remove anyone he wants. 

 

@Phil- you're a good choice, you act like an adult.  BTW my wife hates how much time I spend on the RCIA too. 

Scott, all seriousness aside, do you remember the guy from Australia whose avatar was a kangaroo sitting at a bar with a beer?

IMO it would be funny if you changed yours to a picture of you sitting at a bar with a glass of Kool-aid.

I hope you do not stay on as a moderator.  1st, it took you 12 hours to notice this post and it seems a moderator should be checking the board more often than that.  2nd, when AC posted my sensitive business information on the public side, not only did you NOT remove it, you attacked ME.  Matthew removed my post and when I asked why, the clock kept ticking with no response from any of the moderators.  The only exception was you telling me that my post was probably removed because I called AC a dumbass.  I still have not recieved a definitive answer. 

You can call me any name you want and it won't hurt my fledgling business, but when you put my pricing information out for all the lurkers to see that does hurt it.  Now I ask you Larry, which is worse, calling someone a name or publishing their confidential business information?  Obviously it is the latter.  For the record, AC and I have publicly apologized to each other while you and Matthew were conspicuously silent.  I have no doubt that you are one hell of a roof cleaner Larry, but IMHO, you should not be a moderator.  This is not a personal attack, it is only my opinion.  If you doubt that, note the fact that I gave you a compliment. 

By the way, when the suject of Moderators came up on Sunday night's Talkshoe, it was noted that Matthew had not visited the forum in 12 days.  IMHO that's not moderator behavior either.  Come to think of it, I join Talkshoe every Sunday & most Wednesdays and I don't recall you being there either.  The only moderator who shows up regularly is Ted Saunders. 

You could argue that the people who actually bother to join in on the Talkshoes are the ones who really care about the RCIA.  I intend to vote for the people who do just that.

 Art, you really do crack me up. LOL... Seriously? Do you really hold a grudge for this long? Heck I can't even recall what your upset about. Personally, I try not to sweat the small stuff. Especially the things that are not going to affect me in an hour or a week from now. Life is too short. If you haven't noticed yet, I normally don't ever get involved with all the petty BS that goes on on this BB or any other BB's. That doesn't mean I'm not watching. I don't always have time to check out every single thread and or post on here as we are very busy. ( Sorry it took me a whole 12hrs to see this thread. My bad) but I am on here daily at least 7-10 times and try to keep a close eye on whats going on. Just ask Chris Tucker. There have been times that I called him about certain threads and he didn't even know they were there.   This is why we need the help of a few more qualified moderators. With the combined efforts from all those involved I'm sure that the forum can be moderated at least 95% of the time.

As far as the way I moderate, I don't go around deleting threads for absolutely no reason at all. Most of the time anything that seems to be getting out of hand seems to work itself out. After all, we are grown ups here and SHOULD know how to conduct ourselves. If I find that things are not working themselves out I always call Chris Tucker and ask him what he thinks I should do before making a move on my own. I'm sure he will confirm this.

There have been many instances where I have been called or PM'ed and asked to move a thread or delete a thread by the poster even when I am away from my computer and I take the time to check it out and do so on my phone even when I am working or out to dinner with freinds etc...Again,,, I'm sure that some of those whom I have helped will chime in and confirm this.

As far as meetings and talkshoe goes. Yes I admitt not being able to make them. Although I did make one after the fact and enjoyed talking with Bruce and Ted as they were still on. I have a very busy life with work and home (not using this as an excuse) but if need be I can and should work a little harder to try and make these.

Just today I was texted by a member and asked what the best way to remove rust from a roof was. I took the time to help him and he was very grateful. There are a lot of things that I do for this BB behind the scenes to help out that I never before felt the need to bring up and I'm only bringing them up now because I am being questioned by you Art as to why I should stay on as a moderator. You have your right as an individual to have your own opinion and I respect that.

I  openly admitt that I do not remember the incident that your speaking of (Waaay too much going on in my brain) but if it is an appology that your looking for then you got it. It is and never will be my intention to publicly hurt and or humiliate anyone here on RCIA or any other BB and I am truly sorry if I have offended you or anyone else in any way.

If there is anyone else here who feels this way then please feel free to come forward. Trust me, you won't hurt my feelings and I'm sure we can resolve any issues if there are any.

No Larry, I try not to hold grudges. However, when my business's confidential information is compromised, I tend to remember. As I mentioned, AC & I are square on that situation. I actually don't want an apology from you because it wouldn't mean anything. The time to apologize was when you sided with Matthew against me. He didn't delete the thread with my info., just my response. That makes me look bad when the word I used (or two words if you prefer was "dumbass"). If he had deleted the thread before or after I called AC a dumbass it would have been good moderating, instead he deleted my response to AC publishing confidential information which was potentially damaging to my company if it was seen by a competitor.
My point about you not beeing a good moderator was simple. When Matthew's buddy AC wronged me and I pointed it out Matthew jumped ME. You sided with Matthew who was in the wrong. When I asked for clarification on what rule I broke, all you offered was a condescending remark about how I called AC a name. Really? I called him a name after he released confidential information and you're suprised? What I wanted from you was not an apology, but clarification on what rule I broke and I'm still waiting. The reason I'm still waiting is simple. The only rule I broke was standing up for myself and you can't punish me for that. Matthew sent me a PM telling me that I had 1 of three strikes against me for that episode. When I PM'd Chris about it, he told me it didn't count anyway.
I'm glad you're busy & I'm glad you help other roof cleaners, but IMO your character disqualifies you from being a moderator.

 Art, It is very apparent to me that no matter what I say or do you will not be happy. Here is a news flash for you and everyone else. We are all human and humans make mistakes. Have not you or anyone else ever made a mistake? Possibly a post that maybe later you regreted making? Well all I guess I can say is that I made a mistake. If your going to judge my integrity and my character on one lousy post / mistake then so be it.

Again, I do not remember seeing any such post of private information as you call it, on any posts. All I remember seeing is that you had resorted to name calling using the term "DUMBASS" which I thought was inapropriate to be doing on a public forum. I am not the one who sent you a notice of ( 1 strike ) but if one was sent to you by another moderator then so be it. If you need further information on the rules that we as moderators must follow here on RCIA then here is the first one...

 

 

1.All members will refrain from posting subject matter

that is demeaning, degrading, and/or derogatory towards any/all members of RCIA.

All such posted material will be removed/deleted by the moderator assigned to that topic area, and the offender will be notified by PM/Email of the action and a warning will be issued to cease such activity. Additional future violations may warrant a suspension of posting rights for a period of time.  Any additional violations will be presented to the  RCIA sentinel  for escalation to the Executive board for a decision on actions warranted. The Executive board decisions will stand as “FINAL”.

 

If this is not a good enough explanation then I don't know what is. I do believe that calling someone a " Dumbass" qualifies for the above rules of RCIA.

As I stated earlier Art you have your right to your own opinions. I just find it funny that the one time I get involved in negative activity on this BB it drags out for ever.

I hope that things are going well with you too Art and that you are having a good year so far.
