Has anyone tried felt bottom wading boots on a shingle roof before? The ones without the studs. Curious is to how they would work out.

I don't think they will work, or be worth the cost. They are great for slippery rocks in rivers, I know, I use a pair in late fall/winter trout fishing. But, up on a roof, they are not going to be any better than any other boot. Plus, with the pressure on the pad from walking on the angle of the roof, your going to pull the felt off.

I've wondered the same thing Joe.  I would try mine on a roof, but they're overisized to accomodate my waders.  (BTW - many states are passing laws banning felt soled wading boots due to diddymo concerns)   I'm curious if that'll run the prices up on shelf stock, or put them on the bargain isle?

Seems as if many folks speak highly of the Korker brand specifcally for roof traction?

I just thought they would be good to aid in slipping on the roof, thought that the felt would get some traction almost like a sponge would.
