I was just thinking { happens once and a while } I'm a little tired of  non paying members " Guest " that are on here telling others not to rush to be a member you can find it out for free, here or else where. Now to become certified you need the hundred post, premium membership and pass the test. How about this idea.....You have say two weeks to become a premium member other wise...your post don't count and they will go back to zero. Why not?If they don't become premium members they are " guest " They post away....they are not helping by encouraging new premium members. So stop the post count and make them guest with zero post no matter how often they post. I bet you will get some new premium members quickly. What do you think?

thanks...I mean why should a person who is not a paid member have more post count then a member who has paid? For these new guys who have paid membership and have 5,15 or 30 post that should count for somthing. Look by now these " Guest " know they are not going to become " Paid Members " So why let them "post up " A potential customers views a non paid member with possibly 230 post as experianced.......Why should that be? If we have a paid member in the same area with 30 post he should " show better " making the potential customer favor the paid member.

Great Idea, need to motivate them to get more involved not just cash in on a free ride,
I know there is a few that unbelievably refuse to pay for a membership.
I need to start posting more on the other side for promo's.

Makes sense to me. Give the customer the wrong impression or perception.

Good thinking out of the box!

I think that sounds fair.  Maybe do away with the post counts alltogether on the guest side.  Just give the people that have been around a while a month deadline to join or their counts get deleted forever.  It's not like it is alot of money to join.  I haven't been real busy lately and I managed to scrounge up a hundred bucks to join.

Sounds like a great idea. Not sure if the forum spftware will allow that type of segragation or not.

Keep in mind that the free loading ass wipe that made that comment about finding everything for free has never cleaned a roof except his brothers, offers nothing back to the forum, has tried several times to sell his equipment, is in love with Lori, and thinks he is setting the world on fire with his $25K a year government job. I draw more than that on SS. LOL.  Just a prime example of the type of free-loading stupidity that finds its way on here. This type needs to disappear. JMHO

There has to be a way to make some changes over there. With all the smart people we have here there has to be a few who can, along with Chris, work on the other side. Maybe when Steve finishes with the new web site we can start moving the "free" information into a password protected area.

Being that it was weeks before I even thought to ask a question, I can now see why so many would always say... "search and read". Now that sponge bob has taken his break and come back, he wants to know what we wear. It's there if he looks for it. Will some answer him? Sure they will. It's strange though, if the person asking was in their back yard, do you think they would be so helpful? The guy isn't close enough to be real competition but I have decided that if they won't sign on over here, then they aren't as serious as the rest of us. I don't want to hear the crap about money. If they can buy equipment and uniforms... then pay up. Yep, don't count any posts until they are a PM, then start at zero all over! Damn, I almost sound like I got up on the wrong side... not at all, starting the day out well. Had some good conversations yesterday and even made amends with one!

I agree. And while they are at it, add a search over in the premium side. That would really help us new guys trying to find all the top secret stuff. Jon

Bruce Sullivan posted in the guest side yesterday about this.

http://roof-cleaning-institute.activeboard.com/forum.spark?aBID=123190&p=3&topicID=42061670

People that are premium members keep posting to help those out who are just asking questions, won't read till their eyes bleed and won't cough up the $100.00. There is no way to put a stop to this untill all of us use that section for promotion and some small teaser comments.

There is a few threads that should be in the Prem section.
Here you go: This guy has fished so much info from just 3 posts, now I know he has said he sent his check, but until then , please slow it down responding till it clears the bank.

These are some I have found in the first 150 threads, Not sure if all qualify to be moved, but if they are benefiting the guests to better their business and not become a P.member then we are giving good things away.
We have all been guilty of this at one time or another, but these posts are pretty recent.

Here is a classic example of what is going on with new members,
Here is a guy who joined on March 1st, posted 2 topics and responded 3 x's 9 days later, well he is off and running and hasn't been back to the forum in 9 days.
Question is did he get all the info he needed and is now your new competition?
BTW:
His topic: Roofster, Fatboy kit or air was one of his topics it has to date had 515 views, and 27 responses. that speaks volumes.

Here's the bottom line. The word is out. Keeping trade secrets contained is similar than trying to control the radiation from that Japanese nuclear debacle. Im seeing it big time. Just as I suspected. Way more roof cleaners this year than the last. And you know that theyre all thinking theyre gonna light the world on fire. Just like the pressure washing knuckle heads i competed with last year are gone and this year there's a whole new bunch. The flood gates are open.
This aint my forum. Im a paid premium certified member but yet Im still a guest here. If it doesnt bother Chris Tucker why should it bother me? What do you do with experienced guys that been here for a while and refuse to become premium and are hellbent on feeding free info to anyone and anybody (i wont mention names)? I dont have the energy to close the floodgates. I am and will focus my energy on building my company name and image so it will be a no-brainer when it comes to choosing the right company for the job. If someone will choose a contractor with no history, no reviews, no BBB history (Im not a member but enough history for "A" rating), no references, no insurance, workers comp, then that is not the customer I want anyway.
