Your URL is just a means for your customers and Google to index your sites. Use key words in your page title tags. ie. index or home page title tage: Presidential Pressure Washing - Roof Cleaning Sarasota.htm Your other pages change the title tags to incorporate key words into them. Behind your visible page use your meta tags, some say you need them, some say you don't, but go without them and customers will have to specifically look for you to find your site.
Use a H1 tag - Google index's this first on your page, use "alt" tags on your photos, so when they are hovered over a short description comes up, key word heavy of course. Use a div tag at the top of your page outside the html, shows up over your page. Incorporate tage lines into it - Roof cleaning Sarasota, Bradenton, Palmetto, Lakewood Ranch by Presidential Pressure Washing.
I know it all sounds confusing if you haven't worked html, CSS or alt tags on your web site. Use the backlinks to blogs, as many of the members are doing, have good links coming to you have non competing links going out.
Beat him at his own game, sure he copped a high vis URL, make him work it, if he doesn't cut his knees out from underneath him. Kill him with good html, links and key words.
Get your site validated by Google and Bing and Yahoo.

Google guru Matt Cutts has indicated that the search engine optimisation value placed on keywords contained in domain names is set to diminish.
So far, the domain name of a website was very important to its ranking in search engines, with the emphasis being placed on any keywords it contained.
However, according to a feature on searchnewz.com, Matt Cutts, Google’s principal engineer, is all set to change this. He said:
“Some people have complained that we’re giving a little too much weight for keywords in domains.
“So, we have been thinking about adjusting that mix a little bit and sort of turning the knob down within the algorithm, so that given two different domains it wouldn’t necessarily help you as much to have a domain with a bunch of keywords in it.”
This would be especially beneficial for companies whose URL contains their name, rather than any indication of the service that they provide.
This change, which comes soon after Google’s most recent update, which was engineered to confound ‘content farmers’, is unlikely to be the last coming down the pipe.
In a recent, separate interview, Cutts said that Google’s engineers responsible for tweaking the search algorithm were busy beavering away at it in an effort to improve further the quality of its search results.
He said:
“There is definitely still room for improvement in the space of low-quality content – or in trying to reward higher quality content.”
This news will be warmly received by SEO experts everywhere – much of search engine optimisation involves second guessing Google, so any information on how its search algorithm works is highly prized.
Evaluate their websites and ensure that you are doing everything a little better than they are.
Use your keywords wisely throughout the content of the page, also match your main keywords in the page titles, such as "Roof Cleaning Bradenton FL | Roof Cleaning Sarasota Fl."
Use H1 tags at the beginning of the page, and H2 tags towards the bottom, I can give more information on this over the phone if you are interested.
Use alt text tags for your pictures and use keywords that are meaningful.
If you one up everything they do, then you will be on top every time.
Good Luck!

I am lost on much of this, I am going to have a webinar " SEO for DUMMYS!" Alot of terms are over my head like organic, H1 tags, H2 tags, page placement... what goes where and who goes with who?
I am sure I could find it on utube, but need to go back to the basics, way way back..lol
So who wants to host SEO for Dummys? Mike Hockman? you in?
Any one else need this kind of tutorial? speak up please
h1 is a heading, or like a title. It's important since the text is bigger and apparently, search engines find them better. I'm not sure on all of the nitty gritty details, though.
