If as a consumer I had a choice of a certified professional using approved standards on my roof, versus someone with merely a claim that they could do the job -- then everything else being equal, I'd choose the person with credentials. And proof of license, insurance, references, and so forth.
That's just me, but I assume I'm not so different from most people.
What would persuade me most:
1) Ability to verify capabilities via references and properties I can drive by and see and photographs of others.
2) Credentials (certifications/affiliations) to show that methods are approved and widely used in the trade and aren't going to harm my roof or void my warranty.
3) License and insurance before you do any work on my property.
4) Appearance of individual and his/her confidence and presentation.
My name is Mike, and I am new to this forum. I am quite excited to start the process, and learn. I am young, but very determined in this sort of business. just driving down the streets in my town alone, I see many houses with roof stains. I really think it is pretty untapped in my area. I would love to get some info on how to get certified, the best equipment, how to market, start up costs, etc.
Begin at the top of this page with the "SEARCH" button. Or if you want to learn faster, pay the $100.00 and become a "PREMIUM" member. That lets you into the private side of RCIA. You can access all info in there are questions will be answered readily.
