Jeff youre old attitude was amusing. You knew one is refreshing. Lets say we change your profile pic to match. Your current one always reminds me of Stiffler walking in and seeing his mom on the pool table.
I use the same exact filter on the suction side or my pump and have had it on there well over a year now. She gets rinsed out every night and sits in a bucket of water (not needed) over night. Its a GREAT filter. Never had a problem.
PS: For the record... I love everyone. Yes I can change titles, No I did not change anyones title and as far as Gary's poll goes, I have NO controls on my end to manipulate anyones poll... ( WOW, that sounded soooo wrong )
I use a slotted pipe from the well/pump supply place. I used 3 caps & a tee to make a T-shaped filter. Here's a couple pics of my p/u hose going into the top. The third cap is for when it's not being used.
I just made this up tonight I used a mitre saw for my slots on the filter,I used "1-1/4 SCH 80 PVC pipe and fittings for the set up, I was lucky and found a local supplier close by!

I am a liitle confused at the filters you guys are making. What are you trying to keep from sucking up? By the looks of the pictures and what some are saying to use to make holes/slits, your not stopping much from going through there. Unless you have marbles rolling around in your tank.

Hey Jon,...The plain and simple reasons to use a filter are: It's cheap,... simple enough to put on,... and it could save your day by not allowing that odd piece of something from getting inside your pump and doing damage or restricting flow. I mean,..sure chances are your tank stays clean, but it may only take that one time.......
In a perfect world you are correct, but the better question is,..why not?
Jeff, I get that it is better to be safe than sorry. The PVC sand filters with all the little cuts in them are great idea to use. But I don't see where to replicate one would work very well. Even using the smallest cut-off wheel would leave a pretty large slot and won't keep many debris out.

Jon, most pumps will handle a certain size of particle, the filters are made to keep the odd "big" piece out that will cause restriction or even damage.

I was a"Master Certified Roof Cleaning Instructor",..but no one here likes me so they took my title Ha,Ha...
No really Travis,..I'm not sure what happened. I think it has to do with the new certification process, and the old titles are being done away with. And I' not a premium member,..that may have something to do with it. Either way, no big deal.

I'm pretty good at being disruptive,..but I actually prefer being.... constructive,..and even productive.

Jeff, I have never had a problem with any post you have made!
Sometimes we all speak our thoughts VERY CLEARLY.
That's not disruptive to anyone, unless that's what they are looking for it to be!
I read all of your posts with appreciation!

No dice, I call Lori and don't get a call back. I call and Email again and then Diane says to call Rex. When Rex gets on the phone, he bitches me out. I'll hold onto my money instead of giving it to them.
