Hello Ya'll!
My name is Dustin and yes I am a newbie and thanks for this board I have learned allot. After reading several posts and looks like everyone has a different opinion on which roof applicator to use.
Currently looking at the roofster and bobs complete fatboy set up. And I can't find a complete kit for an air compressor method, Does anyone have a kit?
Would like to know the pro's and con's of each please..

Lots of opinions on this topic. I'm partial to a 12V systems so far, and bought my system from Bob.

Might want to do some more research as there is TONS of info on this topic here.

Get your self a fat boy from Rural king and some half inch hose at least 100ft and maybe three quaters for the inlet side

I run a Delevan 5850 12v. I would be cautious with going too big at first. I have a lot of run off due to inexperience.
I assume I will see less run off as I grow more accustomed to different application methods. Use the right tool for the job. Take the time to learn which tips to use for different situations. You'll do just fine and in the future you will be ready for the higher flow pumps.
Besides the 5850 is only 120 bucks. IMHO start off cheap and invest more as you make more.
There is a lot of distracting stuff going on here right now. Don't be disillusioned by it. This is the RIGHT place to be. Let the storm blow over and everything will get back to NORMAL. But then, who wants to be normal.

Rodney, good advice and points, my man! I am thinking of moving down to the 5850, too, because I'm experience a lot of run off due to the Fatboy just being too much at times. I'm with Rodney here, start off with something a little smaller, like the 5850, that will still get the job done. It's a popular model around here.

I started with a Delavan 5850. Good pump and if you take care of it (rinse, rinse, rinse) it will pay for itself very quickly. I bought the pump from Bob at PressureTek and he was very helpful with good customer service.

I have since gone to the All-flo air pump. I did this because I wanted to control the flow without stressing the pump. When I would throttle the 5850 down with smaller nozzles or less opening on the ball value my pump would shake rattle and roll. I also had problems using 1/2" hose. Others using the 12 volt pumps were able to overcome these problems or didn't experience them. There have since been some post on how to deal with these issues. If you go with 12v search for those threads.

I like the All-Flo because you can manage the flow between zero and 9 gpm (All-flo specs). For me controlling the flow is very important to controlling the runoff.

I bought my All-Flo from Pressure Washer Products in Tampa. They are very knowledgeable about roof cleaning and can set you up with either a 12v or air system. Somewhere on the forum they posted a diagram of how to setup each system that included plumbing and wiring. The diagram will we be helpful when you are putting your rig together.

I moved up from the 5850 to the Fatboy complete kit from Bob at pressure tek. I don't have run off issues asI have finally figured out my mix, which is different from alot posted on here. It 's a matter of experimenting with your mix, which can be key to run off. Along with the type of roof you are spraying.

Still will use the 5850 set up on another rig for smaller jobs.

Now that the fatboy kit has the accumulator tank, the cut back spray should not be an issue for tight places. Time will tell shortly

Toward the end of last season I had added the accumulator tank to my Fat Boy pump with great results in those smaller area's by being able to reduce my nozzle size without the effects of the pump cycling on and off. I'm looking forward to getting more use out of it in the coming days. Unwanted run off should be a thing of the past.

Actually we DO use bleach. No reason to hide it. Every customer I sell I tell specifically what we use and why. They love it.

A bleach is a chemical that removes colors or whitens, often via oxidation.
