When I was 13 I played hockey in Wall, NJ. My team started that season at a tournament in Lake Placid and I wanted to make sure I was 100% prepared. I spent the summer looking for the fastest skates, lightest stick, should I get a cage or shield, the whole thing.
When we got to the tournament, our 1st game was against a team from Russia. Some of their skates literally had holes in them and their sticks were completely outdated. I had 0 goals, 0 assists, and I can't remember the final score but they put up about 20 and we put up a whole lot less. I could've had Wayne Gretzky's stick and Mario Lemieux's skates that day and it wouldn't have mattered
Point of the story, spend less time worrying about what size hose is better and more time getting accounts. Our job is to sell our service, wash roofs, and get paid. I know I can fall into that trap sometimes.
