I just got a call from Kim, her son was riding his motorcycle and was hit last night. He has a fracture in his arm above the wrist and a compound break around his shoulder. He goes into surgery shortly.

Her reason for the call was to inform me that she will not be able to fulfil her duties with the certification committee and she might have to postpone the BBQ she has set up in FL. At this time she has no clue as to the time frame with his recovery. She said it could be a few weeks to as many as eight weeks. Her phone was about to die so it was a quick conversation.

As an avid rider, this is news I never like to hear. My thoughts are with Kim & Randy as they deal with this unfortunate event in their lives.

I wish Kim, Randy & their son the best.  I have been in more motorcycle accidents than I care to recall.  That is why I quit riding bikes on the street years ago.  The most common reply I got from people who hit me was, "I did not see you" and that was before cell phones.  I can only imagine how bad it is now.  I expect Kim's son to be out of commision for at least 6 weeks.

Kim we will keep hum in our prayers. He was fortunate that it wasn't worse. People just don't look. I almost got backed over sitting at a red light.

Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers, it is very much appreciated. I posted an update on the guest side, he is doing very well considering it was like hitting a wall.
