Two roof looked at this week have bad case of green and black mold and fungas on the siding. Is it recommended to use left over sauce to hit the siding with low pressure, or should I return with less concentrated sh and water and apply low pressure.  Would a power sprayer be recommended with sh on the siding.

Thanks for the info. I promised a friend that  I would hit her stucco on one of my first test houses last year. Her roof came out great. I had to do it twice because I used a weak batch with little surfactant. The chit ran off of the roof like rain. Free test houses are great teachers. I think that I may have to use a weak solution of SH and water for stucco, with low press. Did you  mean Sh or Ch

Hey Steve,

welcome to the RCIA.
Please fill out your signature
completely so we all know who
we are talking with. Thanks.

As far as soft washing, there are many
different methods. You have down streaming
with a pressure washer, soft washing with your
roof cleaning pump, x-jet, etc. I suggest either
down streaming or using your roof rig.
You want a solution of between 5-10% SH, mixed with
a cleaner such as simple cherry, which has both a
surfactant, and rinse agents. I would use a #40 0 tip
for shooting no lower than the bottom of the second
story window, and a #40 25 tip for anything lower
than that. You can use many different tip combinations,
but starting out especially on stucco, I would use the #40 tips.

Chris

If you have TSP in your mix, you may etch the windows. If you have a 40-50% chlorine mix, you might chalk the paint prematurely. If you want to soft wash it with your roof pump, make a 20% SH mix up with a little Dawn dish liquid-if you don't have Ammonix Lo or Simple Cherry. Have a rinse hose ready-with all plants tarped or soaked with a 2nd man constantly [don't wet the walls with water though] and clean it like a roof-top to bottom, as soon as it looks clean, rinse it a few times. Walls are not like roofs, it's NOT good to leave the love behind!
Personally, I've done that, but prefer to pressure clean all but roofs, using the machines downstream chemical injector. I would use my X-Jet, but it's a bit of a bother. I have 2 X-Jets and hardly ever use them. Too bad, great idea!
Hope this helps.
