Building A Rig..How Did You Start Off?

So I've been collecting a lot of valuable info in this forum on what equipment to use and what not to use. I have also come across equipment outside this site that has already been assembled from PT and want to see how many of you out there have bought pre-assembled equipment.

Right now I'm building a list of equipment of exactly what I need, and got a pretty good idea. I would love to come across an already pre-assembled rig, maybe on craigslist that a previous roof cleaner is looking to get rid of, so I could save a couple bucks but that looks to be a pretty rare occassion. Anyone get lucky with this?

The building of your rig looks to be fun but some look pretty technical and over my head. If I was to built my own, it would be a newbie rig for sure (to start out) and built on it as time goes on.

Would I be better off buying some sort of already assembled/wired rig from PT or would I be wasting money on these "kits"?

Mike, That's what I did.  Went and saw Bob and bought a complete set-up.  Great way to get going.  Then look around for a tank and you're in business.

Hey Mike, could you go to your user options and fill out your signature? name, location, company name (If you have one), phone number, etc...?

Thanks

Everyone has to start somewhere. A couple suppliers have put together some start-up kits that will get you started, or you can keep researching and build one piece by piece. The good thing is that even if you go with a start-up kit there will still be parts of it that you'll more than likely be able to use even if you decide to upgrade. Nothing wrong about buying one of these, they're just one of many different possibilities...

I looked around here for awhile, learned what I needed, and then got the things I could afford to get started, and added and improved as I saw the need and could afford it.
