The guys that build general pressure washer pumps dont use any teflon. They just dump a lil blue loctite on n its good.I know thats off subject I'm just saying they are dealing with lots of pressure and it works for them

 Yea Loctite works great. We're just saying theres nothing wrong with teflon. They are interchangable.

Yup. My parts guy is trying to talk me into going all loctite and drop the teflon but its hard to imaginn that its enough. O well they dont use teflon anyumore either so mebe. we see. Yea I use teflon with SH no problems either

I personally had problems with loctite setting up on poly fittings.

He Bob, can you list what loctites good for and what teflons good for? Aluminun, SS, polyy, nylon, etc...? And explain why its not good?

I basically just use a good quality teflon tape on poly joints and blue Loctite on metal joints. I use teflon tape on joints that are poly and metal.

 That's what we do and have done in the past. Seems to be working so far.

Any metal to metal is loctite or similar.
Any plastic, poly, abs, etc. at any part of the joint use teflon tape.

The only leak I have had in just under 3 years is a pipe doped pvc to pvc joint.
It was on a wand assembly I got from a supplier.... leaking love all down my arm.
I have pics of the burns if you wanna see.
