I'm not sure but I think they have a local supplier. Will check into that. Ideal Chemical refused to sell it to me or anyone in my line of work! They said it would be and I quote "IRRESPONSIBLE of them". She said "it will kill anything it touches. I explained that it is the only chemical approved by the freakin people who MAKE the shingles. Didn't help.
Greg-call Brainerd in Dunn. $1.85 or so/gal. It's $3.18/gal in Wilmington so I'm gonna spend 2-3 days/ month hauling chemicals.
Yes I have talked to them a couple weeks ago. $ 2.38 /gal plus delivery equals out to be some where in the $ 3.69/gal range. Dunn is about a hour and a half away from me and I cannot justify driving down there to pick it up just to save a few bucks.
I have been buying SH from Univar - Charlotte. During 2010 I paid $1.80, 1.85, & 2.00 per gal. I was quoted in December that in 2011 my cost would become $2.10. They also have a warehouse in Jamestown, NC near High Point / Greensboro.
My new SH supplier for 2011 will be Caribbean Pool Service of NC out of Concord NC. 704-795-7665 or NC 800-290-7091. I was quoted $1.85 per gal. They are a very large wholesale pool supplier that services mostly aapartment complex, YMCA's & municipal pools. They do not sell to the homeowners but have been selling SH to some other RCIA members. The owner is Randy Lapish & he said their delivery trucks go from Anderson SC to Raleigh NC mostly along I-85. So for your business being near Raleigh you may want to call & inquiry if they could delivery to you. Another nice thing is they will sell in 5 gal, 15-20 gal, 55 gal or larger quantity.

Thanks Steve! Univar is about the same distance from me as Brainerd. Brenntag is 10 minutes from me ,$ 1.50 gal and they refuse to sell to me. I will contact the company above and see what they offer me. The thing I like about Brainerd is they will deliver to a residential address if needed.

Let me guess, they say it would be irresponsible!!
Brenntag told me they will only sell SH to end users like a municipality, manufacturing companies or dry cleaners that use the SH in their own facility. It all goes back to a liability issue that they were also sued for because of a contractor that caused an accident where everyone including Brenntag got sued. So when they asked what my business was going to us the SH for they said that Brenntag company policy was not to sell to business like mine. So I moved on to other suppliers.
We just get 55 gl, drums, one guy is 115.00 and another one is 99.00. The one that is higher I have used for a few years and he is great at delivering to my warehouse. I may see if he wants to match this other guy or just may use both for a month just to make sure the lower guy is trust worthy.
As always remember that just because they say it is Sodium Hypochlorite it doesn't mean that its good. A lot of places sell it a 10% or less. In some cases its months old and more like 8%.
Do the math. If you are having to use 45-55% total mix to be effective you're buying stuff that's too weak.
I pay $1.28 a gallon for SH here in Florida that is ultra-pur and averages between 12.5-15%. My total mix ratio is 25-30%.
So example: Good SH $1.28 a gallon x 30 gallons per 100 gallon mix = $38.40 Bad SH $0.99 a gallon x 50 gallons per 100 gallon mix = $49.50
30 gallons versus 50 gallons also means less salt produced.
Its more to the quality than the price per gallon.

My friend owns a Pinch-A-Penny pool store and I'm paying $1.23, but I spoke with a big SH supplier and he offered at $1 a gl, but I think will have to buy more than 100gl a week.
you better watch univar, I was buying 2 -55 gal's @ a time and after the 4th trip (1hour drive each way)I noticed they were still charging a drum deposit eventhough I had all papaerwork where I had returned prevous 6 empty drums (in same cond they were picked up in) after 2 days on the phone with numrous people I got 2 - $40 deposits back and that was last time "we" did business last summer.
