The certification would be "nice to have" but the real account closer is you.
Have a professional looking proposal for your client, be confident when talking
to them, and be knowledgeable about the process when answering all questions.
If you connect with the potential client, have value to give them with your services,
and look and act professional, you can out sell the certified guys. Selling is about
you, not the certification. You guys will do well. I have talk with both of you on the
phone, and you both have what it takes to sell your services. Work on the SEO,
and other marketing plans you have, and close those deals!!!
