It is not the case. Welcome, please read around here for a while and you will understand. We are not selling soap. Most that claim the SH will harm your shingles are.

Welcome Alan, sodium hypochlorite is the best chemical to use for cleaning roofs, and it suggested by the people who make the shingles, and us here at the RCIA.
SH is the only effective solution in todays roof cleaning. Others may come along or are in the works. Type mix in the search link and you'll see tons of feedback.
Alan,.hypo is the gold standard for cleaning roofs. If you are just beginning your roof cleaning research,..just accept the fact that hypo is the choice and move on to other parts of learning this trade. Sodium Hypochlorite is possibly the most elementary part of this work.
