what is the most effective chemical for low pressure asphalt shingles.

I have heard conflicting stories about sodium hyd at 12.5% that it would prematurely wear the life of the glue and age the shingle. If this is the case what does the majority of the largest roof cleaning businesses use.

It is not the case.

We are not selling soap. Most that claim the SH will harm your shingles are.

Welcome Alan, sodium hypochlorite is the best chemical to use for cleaning roofs, and it suggested by the people who make the shingles, and us here at the RCIA.

Alan,.hypo is the gold standard for cleaning roofs. If you are just beginning your roof cleaning research,..just accept the fact that hypo is the choice and move on to other parts of learning this trade. Sodium Hypochlorite is possibly the most elementary part of this work.
