I had seen online a truck that looked like Clydes flatbed, but I think it was 18 or 20' long. It was 9,000
What price range are you looking for?
*Or* what kind of truck are you looking for? Utility bed, flat bed, cab over etc. Some have mentioned that local county or town auctions are a great place to pick up well maintained fleet trucks at a very reasonable price. I found my truck (F450 diesel bucket truck) via CommercialTruckTrader.Com. Since we're not that far from each other, kindly let me know what you're looking for and the price range and I'll keep an eye out for you.

Sounds like a sweet truck Scott. I think my next daily driver will be a F250 diesel. Did Ford get the head bolts sorted out on the 6.0 liters? Other than that one issue, that's a bullet proof motor isn't it? That fuel mileage is better than my V6 ricer!
My friend has the F250 i think its a 03 and he had the head bolts replaced. Could have been due to the turbo upgrade and Bully Dog system installed. Very quick diesel!!
The new 2011 F250 has a Ford built 6.7L so the issues that the 6.0l and 6.4l had no longer exist.
The 6.0l as tough has nails, but the torque to yeild head bolts and egr cooler were the weak links.Another problem is the coolant(ford gold) clogs the oil coolers.None cheap tp repair, but well worth spending the money to get 700k miles out of the truck.
My 03 is currently waiting for an open spot at the dealer ship for a new oil cooler and egr delete $1900.We are still debating doing the heads studs since my heads are still intact if we do them it will push the bill too $3k.
FIL truck had the oil cooler/egr cooler done last year under warranty. It's a super nice ride and well taken care of.It's never had a programmer on it either which makes a huge difference in the life of the head bolts.
If you own a 6.0l I encourage you to do a complete coolant system flush and replace the ford gold with an ELC E-1 coolant. Also as a coolant filter while your at it these will save you thousands in repairs.
i'm on the fence as to finding something more in my budget, like 3-5k, or going max on my budget and finding something in the 7-10k range. not real sure. dont really need flatbed or anything like that, just a regular pickup. its gonna be my daily driver when i'm not cleaning roofs too. not looking for anything special. needs to clean up good, i'd like 4wd, i'd love a diesel but i know i'd pay more. i guess what i'm saying is i'd settle for a 2wd single cab fullsize but i'd like to find a reasonable 4wd ext cab long bed possibly diesel. i might end up holding off til spring and decide how much to spend based on how busy i am lol.

Our 2003 F 450 has the 6.0, and when it runs it is an awesome motor. It has 270,000 miles on it. We just had the FICM Module go bad, an 800 dollar repair. Our motor is stock, but I have friends who have modified the 6.0 for incredible performance.

Look into the local city, State auctions, many ''retired'' vehicles have plenty of life left, around here we have a company that buys fleet vehicles, all white, all shapes and sizes of trucks, makes, models.
The State holds auctions at least 3 times a year, and some come out with great deals.

Some real deals to be had on Craigslist. There is a Craigslist search tool called search tempest that will allow you to search every Craigslist in your state or up to a 1500 mile radius at once! Cash TALKS Do not be afraid to look at a truck for 5 grand, then hand the guy 3 grand to "count for you" Put the money in their hands, seldom will they say no then!
You can try U haul Trucks http://www.uhaul.com/TruckSales/ You may find a small box van at a real good price. I just bought a 14" GMC box truck, Cheap. It run and drive Great! Good Luck
I have also up graded my truck for this year. I bought a 2008 F-250 Supercab XLT 8' with 120,000 miles has 6.4 diesel power stroke from a dealer that was going to send it to auction. It had been a construction Foreman's truck, real clean, for $15,500.
