On the radio show (1-2-11) Gary said that he agreed with Chris Tucker that we just wanted to get certified & run off. (I'm paraphrasing.) I guess this means we won't be added to the directory. For the record, and I already stated in writing, I would be willing to recertify as soon as the new certs were published, but apparently I was not believed. I also stated that I only spoke for myself. Also for the record, I am new & I don't know squat, but as soon as I developed a tool that I thought might help others I posted pictures. I would make a wisecrack here about posting the pictures so they don't weigh me down as I run off, but it's late & I'm tired.

Thanks Guys for bringing this TO our attention. Please ask Gary to add it to the next meeting agenda, ok ? I work hard behind the scenes for the excellent SEO this forum enjoys. I do not intentionally wish any regular poster here to be deprived of the work opportunities our directory provides. But honest to God, you do NOT have to post a promotional thread JUST in the certified directory for Google to find it! For instance, you can make a post titled "roof cleaning wilmington NC" in the shingle roof cleaning forum for instance. Just be sure to use Tags, and write with keywords ?
something like - Here is a shingle roof in wilmington nc that was cleaned by roof stain removers. roof stain removers uses a safe, non pressure cleaning process to clean roofs in the wilmington, ashville, and charlotte, NC area.
Guys, we have a few bugs to work out with certification and the standards. Until then, have at it with promotional posts! TRY to make them educational, like I used the new roof cleaning pump or Apple Butter Surfactant I got from Lori at Pressure Washer Products, and it only took 1/2 the usual amount, so I passed the saving on to my wilmington roof cleaning customer. I may even do a free webinar for members on HOW to write for best SEO in your promotional posts. Guys, I have been SICK with undiagnosed diabetes the past 18 months, perhaps longer. I have not "abandoned" you guys, or this Forum. My health is slowly returning. All the Board Members and Moderators of the RCIA are here to help you be successful. Thank You for bringing this to our attention!
The meeting we had this evening was not the meeting Chris was speaking of, he was speaking of the BOD meeting which is Wed night, I have it on my list to bring up. Thanks for reminding me!! I am super busy, but I got it on the list!!! We will keep you posted!!

I had a talk with Bill Booz today & he explained this to me. I have been reading lately that web presence is king, and I started this thread out of concern that not being in the directory may be causing me lost sales. I read what Chris said, & while I never disagreed with it, it is simply over my head. I got some books on the subject to learn from and that helped me understand a little better. I have no problem not being in the directory until the new certs are unveiled. For those of you who think Bill is sitting here holding a gun to my head, he's not. He's not even in the same state as me. I actually offered to write this because he was so helpful. Since this is all uncharted territory for me so I'm looking at it as a challenge, but I'm sure I'll figure it out.

To clarify a bit, my feelings on Roof Cleaning Certification are as follows. No matter how much or how hard we try to write the certification standards to please "The Industry", it will be an effort doomed to failure. What matters is if our potential customers buy into, and see the benefits of having a certified roof cleaner vs an uncertified one clean their roof. There are some people who seem to have put themselves "In Charge" of the cleaning industry, LOL Legends in their own minds, these Egomanaics do not pay my bills, or yours. Let them laugh at RCIA Certification all they want, we will laugh too, all the way to the bank. My Dad was a certified mechanic who initially laughed at NIASE (Currently ASE) Certification. Once our Garage started losing business to other Garages employing Certified Mechanics, guess what ? Dad got Certified.
