I understand that the RCIA is not currently certifying new members. I also understand that the old requirement for certification was 100 posts and a phone call to test your knowledge. After that you were granted the title "Certified" and you were added to the "Certified Roof Cleaners Directory." This is my 100th post. Under the old standard I would soon receive the phone call and be on my way to being listed in the directory. I have been here long enough that in early November my avatar was changed from "member" to "guest." I have cleaned some roofs and paid the $100 to become a premium member. I know that I am not the only person in this position. I am afraid that I am losing business by not being in the directory, so I am respectfully requesting that everyone in my position be added. I can only speak for myself, but I will be more than happy to recertify after the new standards are in place.

DITTO... many have fallen into what I call a limbo state of before, during and after the new certification.

It is a catch 22 as is said. Given there is no new certification process in place and the fact that many are waiting, you have done roof jobs and references, which was required when I was certified, you are a paid member etc.. I would contact the BOD and present your case for consideration. I would contact Gary W he is the secretary and ask him to present such to the BOD for consideration.
Thanks Guys for bringing this TO our attention. Please ask Gary to add it to the next meeting agenda, ok ? I work hard behind the scenes for the excellent SEO this forum enjoys. I do not intentionally wish any regular poster here to be deprived of the work opportunities our directory provides. But honest to God, you do NOT have to post a promotional thread JUST in the certified directory for Google to find it! For instance, you can make a post titled "roof cleaning wilmington NC" in the shingle roof cleaning forum for instance. Just be sure to use Tags, and write with keywords ?
something like - Here is a shingle roof in wilmington nc that was cleaned by roof stain removers. roof stain removers uses a safe, non pressure cleaning process to clean roofs in the wilmington, ashville, and charlotte, NC area.
Guys, we have a few bugs to work out with certification and the standards. Until then, have at it with promotional posts! TRY to make them educational, like I used the new roof cleaning pump or Apple Butter Surfactant I got from Lori at Pressure Washer Products, and it only took 1/2 the usual amount, so I passed the saving on to my wilmington roof cleaning customer. I may even do a free webinar for members on HOW to write for best SEO in your promotional posts. Guys, I have been SICK with undiagnosed diabetes the past 18 months, perhaps longer. I have not "abandoned" you guys, or this Forum. My health is slowly returning. All the Board Members and Moderators of the RCIA are here to help you be successful. Thank You for bringing this to our attention!
I can wait for the new certification, Chris is right you can just make a thread with a good name and tags and it will show up on page one of google ....the first day i put my roof cleaning thread up it was on page one..... I think when clients come here they see you are a premium member and that you've spent money just have that title. I don't think you will lose the work, Plus your website is right here aswell so they can further investigate....jmho tho

Chris, thank you for the post and for seeing that this was missed. I hope you are feeling better as the Dr's. figure out what you need!
I think the one thing Art and I agree on is not only the excellent SEO this forum enjoys is a big part of things, it would be nice (if we met the old standard from 2010) to be able to list in the state area of the forum where some have listed that are guests. We just came at the wrong time and understand that... to a point.

Thanks to the RCIA, promotional posts like Chris mentioned can get you on Google Page 1 organic! I'm line 2 and 3 via RCIA promotional posts for keywords Roof Cleaning Fairfax for my area:
We kinda got here at a good time if ya think about it, we get to have our 2 cents on how things with the certification process are done...our timing is perfect if ya asked me!
Of course I wish i had found this place a long time ago....LOL

Yes thank God Chris got diagnosed. I had the same health downfall back in 2005. I spoke with Chris on the phone yesterday and the diabetes diagnoses with a new diet and meds has him back to being the horniest roof cleaner in America!
Yes, everyone here is in on the ground floor of roof cleaning, so to speak. My 2 main objectives when I started this forum were
1 - teach what I know about roof cleaning. 2 - help those I or others here taught get roof cleaning work with earned certification, and a high ranking forum.
Plenty are helping feed their families from the roof cleaning work they get off this forum. Think about it, you are a customer, searching for roof cleaning. You see all the websites and roof cleaning advertisements, but wait a minute. All of the sudden up pops a thread from a forum dedicated to roof cleaning, and lo and behold you just found a roof cleaning expert in fairfax, VA who posts on that roof cleaning forum. You read the thread, and find other roof cleaners respect this guy, and are asking him questions. Who are ya gonna call

Chris, when making the post for seo does timing matter? If I post them now will they still be coming up in the spring? Glad to see you back.

I can tell you the sooner you post them the sooner they will help you. They will always keep coming up. The more you have out there the better it will do for you.
If you post today, they should be found by tomorrow.
The SEO that Chris works so hard on does work!! Trust me, I have spoke to Chris on this subject before and he is right! Just make sure to use the keywords that will get you found.
Look at the Florida area, I am like a posting whore! This is because I am not in the Major cities, I am more rual so to speak. Dont forget to get on Google and Merchant circle as well...there are a ton of these things there for you.
We are working hard on getting the Certification rectified so that we can start the Certification again!
Good luck!
Chris, welcome back, and you having an seo class is a great Idea!
