I was wondering if we could have sticky topics over here on the member forum. I read something good and important ( which is a lot of times) and then later want to look it up it is hard and time consuming to find the right one. ( If I ever do). Like have a topic sticky about pumps, Love recipes, hoses, reels etc.etc.etc. Example I was just reading about a pump someone found at Grainger. Chris made a great post about his pumps. Moderator could copy and paste his paragraph in the pump section. That way everything I would want to know about any of these topics would be right there. Just a thought to make my life easier.
This is the quote:
Here is feedback from my guys and me about pumps. Sometimes we feel it is best to use them, and throw away when done. Rebuilds are time consuming and sometimes expensive, especially a complete rebuild. And unless a complete rebuild is done, the pumps never seem to spray like a new one will. Currently, I have a pure Hastelloy one inch pump just waiting for it's monster air compressor. IT will be worth rebuilding, when the time comes, since it is a one inch pump, and made out of Hastelloy. It has so much flow, we have to restrict it by various means. On a big commercial job with gutters, it will allow us to literally fly, but for everyday residential it presents no advantages, other then it LOOKS cool. All things being equal, the bigger the air diaphragm pump is, the slower it moves to pump an equivalent volume of fluid. Small 3/8 pumps are going whoop whoop whoop whoop, 1/2 inch pumps go whoop whoop whoop, and one inch pumps go whoop every 5 to 10 seconds because their larger diaphragms are just loafing at the low flow rates roof cleaners require. This means they will last longer! Do not be "scared" of a one inch pump guys, it will run just fine on a smaller compressor like a Rigid Wheelbarrow type with a 5 horse motor. No, with the smaller compressors, the one inch pumps will not achieve the 49 GPM they are capable of with a 20 plus CFM Compressor, but so what ? They will still do 10 plus GPM with the smaller compressors, and last far longer.

David, good questions Buddy! SEO of the forum is a high priority(we want you guys to get work) and high SEO depends on FRESH Content! A Sticky Thread hurts vs helps SEO, because Google sees it as the same OLD chit. Perhaps what we CAN do is pack all the most important must read threads into a newcomers pack, like they do at AA meetings and Churches ?
Not the whole thread just the helpful and knowledgeable parts of all the different threads. Weeding out a lot of the miscellaneous patter. After writing this I decided to make a bunch of different folders on my desk top and then copy and paste to word the paragraph I want and then insert it into the proper folder. Better late than never

Your excellent suggestions have resulted in me creating this Newcomers Required Reading thread David. Hopefully, RCIA members will post the roof cleaning forum threads that have helped them the most ?

My thoughts were it should be in the premium members section to make it easier for us to rehash articles. It should be a bonus section for us paid members. New comers should read most of the threads anyways. JMO Call the thread old timers or memory impaired section...lol
