I post some there as well, there are guys there who have tons of info. Mostly Powerwashing, but they have a vast knowledge as well.

Maybe RCIA could Learn something from that Very Thread going right now. If the president of the RCIA or and BOD member stuck there neck in that thread to welcome that Guy to PWI with out flat asking them to come to RCIA it would go along way.

Plus that very thread is something that should start happening here. The regular members are willing to say Welcome.....openly welcoming the new member.

Not trying to say the RCIA is doig it wrong but people are not welcomed here often. or maybe I'm just not seeing it?

Create a atmosphere of assistance...most on PWI have been helped and they want to offer there help to others as payback.

Distrubutors are there free, no one pays to advertise. Rules are the only thing a person has to follow, even then the staff is very open to guys just having fun.

If the RCIA wants to be all about biz and stiff thats great. PWI can be a Place for blowing a bit of steam off at the end of the day.

PWI also has a Few places that are not indexed by search engines. ALFA GAMA is like in the shade. Except you can view it without additional Passwords. Mindless Blab is also restricted by google.

I do not run PWI, the admins and Staff have control. I have a great influence as the founder. YES...but as Mr Chris Tucker Knows I have been told NO before to things I have suggested and post of my own removed.

Rules are rules and no one should break them.

I would think that an RCIA section would be great. It would give credibility to this association. I look at PWI and TGS all the time. I don't post a lot there because I don't have a lot to offer those associations. Most of those guys know way more about their trade than I do. I mainly post when it has something to do with roof cleaning.

I'm loud I guess, just my nature to point stuff out. Ive never been a candy coater, its just not my MO. Of course you all know this, I see mistakes being made that I have made in the past and it doesnt feel good to see freinds repeating them.

I will bring the new RCIA forum on PWI to the staff attn, maybe we can annouce the new forum along with the New WCRA forum on Jan 7th.

Someone would need to send a permission slip over saying the RCIA will soley take care of and moderate themselves. of course the approval of the Staff appointed people will be cleared by PWI admins and staff.

Please do not pick a staff member of PWI, this will only be a conflict. Please appoint someone fresh and not a staff member at PWI. We truly want this forum to be run by your org, not PWI.

I'm sure anyone will work unless they know they have been infracted before, I hope anyone volinteering would disclose that so people are not waisting volinteer time.

The new forum will be a Mutual Asset to the cleaning industry.

PWI is just a source for the best in the Industry. The rica is the best for Roof Cleaning in the industry.

Actually we don't welcome new members here. We jump all over their case for not creating a signature. Tell them to shut up till they read, read, read for a few weeks and use the search button instead of interacting with live members for info. Sounds like a solid plan to me.

Ya we need to get better at welcoming members Ron. Thanks for the gentile admonishment.

AC is correct that we do not have a formal welcome place for new members. I remember when I joined a number of people welcomed me and did advise I search. I have advised them myself to search. As to welcoming formally, good point made.

When I registered with the RCIA, I was welcomed by many members. However, when registering I did read the rules and needed a little time to figure it out which made it a little easier.

Suggestion: When a new member registers, they go to the registration page as they fill out everything, name, email, signature(business & website info) and create their log in profile. Before the registration process is complete an automatic email is sent to them to validate, therefore insuring all the required info was filled in by the new member, this is done in a few clicks. Also, during the registration process, the form can have a validation script added that will not let them go to the next line until it is filled in(required boxes) with the ask for member information. After the automatic validation email link is responded to by the new member they are then redirected the RCIA rules for the first page for their first visit from there they enter the RCIA forum. After that it is normal log in and visit, read or post. Another automatic courtsey email can be sent with suggestions on how best to use the forum, read, how to use the search and get the most out of the forum. Benefits of being a premium member, links to suggested equipment setups, the Talkshoe programs and the webinars.

I think that it will be a more pleasant experience for new prospective members to be welcomed this way and not scolded about not have all the required information filled out and to read, read, and read some more.

We want to be a more professional organization this can be an easy first step. This is for folks who want to be members of the RCIA, otherwise they are a guest with limited subjects visitation.

I agree with the welcoming. A number of times I have sent kind notes to someone who was blasted for not doing things the right way. We really do need to be welcoming and helpful. A few people did that with me as I read some pretty short and snide remarks to me and others when I signed on. (and BTW... I filled out everything on the registration page before my first post).

Another idea for the BOD.

I have been reading many different posts in the free/guest area and see many times the question is asked... where did my post go? There are moderators, directors board members who have the ability to remove and ban. After reading Chris' post as to not knowing how and who I think there needs to be some ownership in who removes a post and why. How that is done? I have no clue as I do not know how the site works on the other end. It is only fair that the person who posted the improper stuff be notified by email or PM as to why and who is removing it. Now please don't take this out of context... I agree that posts should/need to be removed. Just don't hide behind a screen when doing so. "I have removed your post because...."

I don't agree with that Ron. So after you fill in your bio the next rule is to post and PM people? Hell, one of the statements back might be... Did you use search before you PM'd me and posted? It's like you a stranger going into someone's home and then it's up to you to meet everyone. The right way is for someone to at least introduce you, same here! I belonged to a board earlier this year, all the moderators could see when someone signed up and would welcome them. How it is here I have no clue!.
