I won't be able to attend the discussion tonight , but wanted to leave my two cents. I think RCIA should abide by a standard, but I feel the 50 point standard is very difficult to achieve for certification.
I don't think you could find a handful of people that obide by ALL 50 points on this board. It has been mentioned in the past that many master trainers are running roof cleaning rigs with huge tanks and NO DOT numbers. Same issue with using TSP in states that allow it.
We could write a less detailed standard that would allow owners more say in how they run their business. The 50 point standard is a good start.....and will help new roof cleaners like myself.
Take care and have a great discussion tonight.

I say amendments to the ratification, or as someone else posted to break it down into segments, then discuss pros'/con's of each segment, then vote each individual segment in until complete. But for everyone, put your input in. When the original post was started 2-3 weeks ago for "ideas" , then with everything was done in the boardroom meetings, then BAM 50 point system posted. I think it might have thrown some for a loop as the details were not clear, I think some had the impression that to become certified would have put that goal off for quite some time, maybe a year or more. Then the expense to comply was another ? mark for some. Adding in to the fact that how will RCIA bring together the manpower to educate and certify members that are all over the US, which goes back to how long will it take to get certified at this point then? Things need to change and I think RCIA is on the right track, the problem I see with the vote was not the use of 50 points but the delivery method of the 50 point system. Kim R
Well then does everyone feel we could pass the first 10 points if we put that section to vote? Id really like to get this done and start REALLY finding the sticking points.

I think it could get passed if we have the input from everyone. Too many guys/gals voted down the 50 pt. that were not envolved in the making of the 50 pts. But we need more suggestions from the Premium members. We need as many as possible...
We need as many Premium members to log into talkshoe and voice....

I have always felt that the standard was much larger (50 points) than it needed to be. After watching AC's video I think I know how it got there. It was determined that there were 5 areas to be addressed and that each area should have 10 points. So the size was determined before the content was really developed. Therefore, I think things were added that don't need to be there just to get to 10 points per item.
As written, I would not vote yes for Section One with the way it is written. I don't expect RCIA to be as intrusive in my company as to tell me that uniforms must be worn, certain employees must wear badges, my website must be only for certain purposes, I have to run background checks, I must use a consumer mediation service, must present customer with proposals, must present scope of work, etc, etc, etc.
Let's try to keep this simple. The larger and more convoluted the standard becomes, especially in later sections regarding inspections, maintenance and education requirements, the standard will become unattainable.
AC, loved your webinar and look forward to your next ones. The 50 point certification, was voted down. Not because of one thing but because of them all together. I'm kinda insulted if you are going to use your position and go item by item. 10 items okay I'll jump threw some hurdles. 50 is crazy. I was hoping to get certified, put it in my advertising and be ready for summer. With the 50 points maybe the following summer. Just way to much. I appreciate all of your hard work and look forward to your next webinar.

It was really good to gain clarity on some things, not sure how Randy will feel about sucking face with a dummy for CPR, but he'll get over it, lol It was a great show and I am ready to vote again Kim R

Congrats on the 15 years. I remember those days, barely! I've been married longer than most of you have been on this planet. I've got 45 coming this year. When I make a committment, I stick to it. Gary
