tell the lord of roof cleaning to put my post back so chris can see it then ill donate
dan i didn't agree with the thread but in no way should it have been removed. I just stated how you need t raise your prices for this year.
Mike I'm sure you didn't want it removed, you could of used that as a selling point. who would you hire Him or Me ? lol
Dan will be Dan.
Chris Tucker always liked the different personalities here he said it was real people in real life.
Hey remember when that dave guy from the other site he would always delete everything that didn't look perfect too. lol, what ever happened to him any way?
i see very valid points on both sides as far as not wanting to show negative rc imagery, but wanting to show "where there's a will there's a way" type thinking to get the job done. to me personally i admired the ingenuity (sp?) of that little "in a pinch" rig and i admire someone who is willing to do what they gotta do to get the job done. no it didnt look professional but the job got done. i know appearance means alot and we should all strive to look as professional as possible but in the end the main goal is good work and a job completed. if it were my roof i'd rather have a guy clean my roof out of a trashcan than to call me and say i'm sorry i cant make it whens a good time to reschedule? i think everyone that read and saw the post should know it was not meant to be a "look how cheap i can do this" post but i also realize that anyone that saw that and was not so serious about having a professional business would run out and get a trashcan and a pump lol. anyway i'm rambling, i'm not gonna pick sides but yeah it seems maybe there are some people getting a little picky on here now but who am i and whats my opinion count for? i cant afford my premium dues yet, even though i really want to and think its well worth it. but when i'm paid maybe my opinion might count a little more.....? any thoughts?
Jimmy,
Don't worry, what is said here is seen, and read by many. Things are tight and even tighter depending on where someone is in VA.
Concerning this post... I never was able to see the actual "set- up" before it was removed. If anything, stuff like that needs to go in the shade and/or the premium section. I do agree, feeding ones family comes first and how we look is way down the rungs of the ladder. To some, how we look comes before all else! Too bad the post got put on "another" site to be made fun of. Whoever did that is showing his attitude toward RCIA. Some people will always do child like things. Talk about unprofessional!
Thought? Actually, Clyde, at 7:54 last night, you wrote that you never go to any other sites. Thats why I chuckled this morning when you asked about someone from some other site. I was gonna ask you for the address, but if you don't follow it anymore, it's probably not as entertaining, enlightening, and so-forth as RCIA.

yea Art it was the other roof cleaning site that failed, thats what they would do delete everythiing that didnt look perfect.
there was nothing wrong with that post and yet it got deleted.
I see many of people here in Florida that has equipment like that.
I know of many members here that has equipment very similar to that too.

yeah i agree brett, this probably would of been much better suited for "in the shade". at the same time i'm talking about professionalism vs quality/completion of work, it wasn't very professional having this conversation out on the open forum. either way i think we can all try to see the good in something before jumping to the bad. just my two pennies. thanks

I read your post and commend you for your effort to get the job done and support your family.
I remember starting out with a pump, hose and 55 gallon drum on the back of my pickup. Didn't look pretty but got the job done. Then I went to a trailer setup. Now I have a F-250 and will have a new setup next spring. I am building a new rig, it's winter here in Iowa and no work as there is 4 inches of snow on the roofs.
As to your post, I can understand why because it was posted in the open forum for all to see, maybe, future customers, it could give the wrong impression to them. I am sure there would have been NO concern in the Premium section or in the shade. I am sure it was about perception and not personal. From my time on this forum you are well respected on here.
Example: I am a locomotive engine for UP railroad. About two months ago I get a phone call from my manager talking about my train running 5 miles an hour over the speed limit at one point. They have recorded tapes they read of train movement. Because of that one incident he has the perception that I speed. What about the 100's of other time I didn't speed, he has never called me to say good job!!!!
In the end, everything is about perception bro. I don't take things personal as I know I am a good engine.
I can see where RCIA is trying to become more professional. I also agree that sometimes things on here appear to be pretty tight ---, but I agree with the goals of the big picture and the purpose & intent.
I would also believe with winter, holiday season, etc. that the forum useage is down. I bet that will change in the spring when all the want to be roof cleaners come out of the wood work it will a busy place. WE had better be ready to put them in their place.
Anyway bro, I got it and had no personal issue with what you posted. I cannot speak for any perception future customers may take from this open forum. When I search roof cleaning in Iowa, Des Moines, etc. my service is at the top along with RCIA because I have posted there, which means customer see RCIA and will get their perception from what they read on it.
I started washing roofs with pump ups. The trailer I built this spring is very basic.
In the pics I remember the delavan had alot of crud on the outside. My pump still looks brand new and 3/4 year old? Was it because the pump was above the roof mix and the vapors?
RCIA used to help many with the lay-out of the set-ups they were working on or using, kinda like a 'family'....what happened???
Many have started with just the basics and now are working on better set-ups, Pristine had to get back to basics to make a buck, so what is wrong with that?
What gets me is the fools that go to PWI from this site and bash him and his set-up, man up and call the guy and explain your concerns....but many like to brag that they have the best of everything, and it really shows how 'Mature' they really are.....and they call themselves businessman????
Hopefully they 'grow a set' in 2011 and help those that need really it.......wishful thinking.....

Why don't you go to PWI and see who made the posts and then the mystery will be solved and you won't have to point at ghosts. Gary
Scott (Confidant) add this: No Kory, thats just Dan. This guy is the epitome of what not to do. Go look at his past threads. The guy is a running joke.
As for Dans original thread and you guys defending it.
THAT is the reason pressure washing and roof cleaning is looked at as nothing more than a lawn service. We are not regarded as true professionals, Because most in this industry are not. I'm not sure who moved it, but I'm glad they did.
