ANYONE ONLY USE CHLORINE,WATER,AND DAWN?I HAVE NEVER TRIED THIS APPLESAUCE MIXTURE
THE " Problem " with Dawn is that it is NOT a Chlorine Stable Surfactant, and the Dawn and Chlorine "fight" each other, eventually weakening both! Does Dawn work ? The answer is, sort of. But using it is kind of obsolete, since there are much better chemicals to be had.

The injection system on Deluxes Softwash System makes it so that ANY surfactant can be used without worrying if it is chlorine stable or not. Even NP9 can be used! And we know how that reacts with the SH. lol
Hey Justin pay the 100.00 and get on the premiun members section. There ia a new thread about a new surfactant that a few have tried and say it's great.

I have used Palmolive @ 6% bleach and seems to work. But if there a better formula, or chemical for roof washing, I hope someone would share. I use no pressure for house but need something for roofs to spray on and use NO PRESSURE.
Rocky,...roof cleaning mix isn't difficult,....in all reality basic mixes have cleaned as many roofs or more than all the secret stuff,...don't make it more complicated than it is. Put your efforts into others aspects of this work.
If you want a good stout mix,..use the original applesauce mix without the borax,..it has it's benefit but isn't needed to make a nice roof,..Water, Hypo, TSP
Notice there isn't any soap in this mix. TSP can be hard to dissolve and is unavailable in some states,..and that's why people went to soaps like Dawn,..etc... Soap gives cling and possible cleaning power,...but not like TSP.

Yes, Rocky,..there is a product that will make a roof perfectly clean and you can sell it as chlorine-free roof cleaner. Go to Tractor Supply and buy some Copper Sulphate,..figure out a way to get it to dissolve easily,..and then apply it and wait for six months,..and then go back and collect your check.
Or use the mix here and have a real roof cleaning service, that you can advertise with confidence.

Jeff hit the nail on the head with this post-KISS method, I can't believe AC pushed the "magic powder" and some are having sleepless nights, and the fact that no money is being made, just wasted.....go figure....

Rocky, Why wouldn't you want to use SHC? It works and it is completely safe for asphalt shingles. We have cleaned hundreds of roofs and they stay clean for many years. When you say bleach I hope your not just going to the grocery store and buying Bleach. That won't work. 12.5 Percent SHC.
