Hose size has been discussed at great length on almost every board I have read. However, I can't seem to find clarification on, what at least to me, appears to be the weakest link in the "proper hose size" dilemma.
If one has 5/8" or 3/4" hose and has 1/2" fittings on the Delevan 5850 and Titan hose reels, isn't that basically the same as having 1/2" hose throughout due to the restriction to 1/2"?
In order to gain all the benefits of larger hose, doesn't the whole "chain", connectors and all have to be the size of the hose or larger?
Maybe I'm over-thinking this, but I've always been taught that the weakest link decides the strength of the chain.... Can anyone clarify this please?

Do NOT fall into that Trap. The small amount of 1/2 inch diameter manifold is negligiable in the TOTAL Loss of a system. Remember, the loss of a system is figured by adding up the TOTAL sum of it's parts, not a few feet of it.
