Hey ya'll,

I am with a roofing company in Austin, TX.  I would like to become a certified roof cleaner.  I am unable to find a phone number or other instructions in order to begin the process.  Can any of you help?

The first step you need to take is to become a member. The cost is $100 but it is well worth it from the info you can get in the prem members section as well as being able to use the membership RCIA logo on your sales materials and on your website.

Thanks

AC

Here are the initial changes that will become policy effective 11/01/2010.

TO ALL REGISTERED MEMBERS/GUESTS OF RCIA.
As of Monday 11/01/2010 you will start to see some changes being made here at RCIA. On the home page, near the bottom, you will see a NEW paid members only forum. This is password protected and all currently paid members will be PM'd the password starting Monday. Please keep this info secure and away from the public view. A large variety of posts will be moved to this area and a multiude of new info will be shared and posted in this area. This will start occuring as time permits and membership grows with paid members. This will be info and techniques that will not be available to registerd guests. Everyone should have an interest in this area. It will continue to expand thru interactions of "members" activities and experience.

Starting on 11/01/2010, there will be several new changes in titles on RCIA. If a person has paid the membership dues, they will carry the title of "MEMBER" and if currently certified they will carry the title of "CERTIFIED MEMBER'. Any person currently registered on RCIA, who has not paid the membership dues will carry the title of "GUEST" until such time as the membership fees are paid. A certified guest will not have the certification attached to their title until the fees are paid and their title changed. You will be carried on the official books as being certified, but RCIA will only advertise this title for paid members.
Additional titles may be added as the new certification guidlines and requirements are completed and put into effect by RCIA officials.

As of 11/01/2010, only "MEMBERS" will be allowed to use the RCIA Logo in their advertising and website usuage. This logo is for the exclusive use of official members only and not for guests use. Steps will be taken to protect the use of the official logo by unauthorized guests.

As of 11/01/2010, MEMBERS wiLL be provided an opportunity to assist in the development and vote on matters that are and will help to change the standards of this industry. You will be afforded the opportunity to join specific "focus groups" with top leaders within the industry to set standards and policies for use within the exterior cleaning industries. You may be chosen to represent RCIA at various events within your local community and possibly on a national level.

As time goes on, more areas of the forum will be moved to the "members only" area and the specific information available to anyone now will not be viewable for guests. There is also discussion taking place which would prevent "GUESTS" from posting or asking questions in specific areas of the forum. Details will follow upon completion of discussions.

If you are truly serious about taking your business to the next level, supporting the RCIA and its teachings which have gotten you where you are today, Everyone should become a "PAID MEMBER" of the leader in Roof Cleaning Organizations. RCIA.

I would like to ask a similar question.  I am actually in the process of developing a business plan in the roof cleaning business.  I understand and realize that I just can't pick up a hose and some chemicals and start cleaning roofs.  Are there any seminars or training courses scheduled in the North Carolina (Charlotte) area scheduled or upcoming?  Are there any resources in the area that can assist in starting the business here?  Also, I have been doing research and have found a few things confusing?  I am finding that some companies seem to push the "eco-friendly" products that are guaranteed to not effect a customers plants, bushes and grass etc. and others suggest that you have a man on the ground to "dilute" overspray etc. so no damage is done?  Which is best and recommended?  I have also been looking at a few of the franchises out here that do not require a franchise fee.  Any thoughts?  I appreciate your help!

There is possibly training available from some members in your area. Post your deasire for training and see who responds.

The "ECO friebdly" products work, but take anywhere from 4-6 months to do so. NO customer is going to wait that long. Our system is immediate and works great when properly performed. Read and research on here and learn. Why would anyone want to buy a franchise when all the info is here, especially on the premium side.

Gary
