This has only happened 2 times now that I know of. One was out of my area, and turned out to be 2 houses! I backed out of the bid and recommended the other RCIA member, who also got a call I didnt know about. The other time I didnt lowball his bid, I bid it 50 higher. Wasnt gonna lowball a friend.
My question is this. Next year its gonna be worse. Customers may play one RCIA member with another. Or 3 members trying to get the cheapest price.
Instead of backing out when I'm told a friend, and RCIA member, Is bidding too. Whats a way we can all make some money! And Not lowball each other, and stay friends?
I think if you are friends you can alternate jobs.
Maybe some sq ft pricing? I know that's difficult for some but if we are bidding the same thing then it should come in pretty close. An agreed upon sq ft price. A lot of variables though. Maybe by the spring there can be a place to post jobs that we know are close to friends. I'm sure we will figure this one out. Maybe the NOVA meeting on 12/11 we can start discussing this.

I think we should work on a small agenda for the NOVA meeting? Ron could help with this! HEY RON!!! ANY IDEAS????? What was it like in the beginnning of the PWNA?
Is there a way you guys could talk it up and keep your prices the same with one another that way either one could get the job and it would not be about the price, just a thought.
@ Brett - I think it's a great discussion topic for the 12/11 NOVA meeting.
@ Mike - you've got a PM re an agenda
@ James - Hoping you'll make the trip up here for the meeting/get together?
If we can come up with a fair and equitable way for competition among RCIA members that protects our industry at the same time, perhaps we can pitch it to the Board for large scale consideration?
I heard about that. Brians right. Maybe, Well. I have a 50 mile radius. As business gets better for roofs I could reduce that. ? Throw it to someone that is in that area? Commisions, Ive never done that before. Just hope you reciprocate.
