Here are a few trick that get me by everyday.

If you have a tractor supply or a Lowes you can grab these new twisty and tie-ey things. They are the coolest things ever. They really hold stuff and don't lose the power either. I have tons of them and they are so unbelievably handy.

The other picture has a spongy thing in it and that is a must for any roof cleaner. This may save your life. It allows you to stick to the roof. No joke, sponges stick to shingles, zero friction. Most of you know about that.

The next is a gun I tried out for myself but again I use a ball valve now, I will be buying that stainless one Marcus uses though.

This ANTICORROSIVE is an absolute must for all rc's as well!

And finally is the trick or treat, haha. my pumpkins for holloween I carved out pumpkin eating a little pumpkin.

Jerry, that foam is a GREAT idea....I've used squares of upholstery foam before when stationary in one area, but seeing your piece gave me another idea. I'll bet in a pinch you could "tape" some to your boots on a real bad roof with a non slick type of tape( black aircraft, etc) for a velcro effect. That might just give an added "safety net".

Ted: In adding to your idea about extra services, when presenting the final bill, make sure to list out the extras you have incidentally done ( stepping stones, basketball goal, A/C pads, etc.) If I look hard enough I can usually find SOMETHING extra to do at a house.

I've found customers really appreciate the small extras, but most importantly, it does you no good if you don't point it out to them. I find service like that really helps my bottom line with referrals to their friends/neighbors/family.

This post the Bob started has become my favorite read for the day! Wow, doesn't that sound exciting! I don't have much to offer but I will throw this in. I did learn here, (while reading) to offer a discount to leave the sign in the yard for a week. I give 5%. Also, if there is any way I can see that they are a vet or active duty, I will take another 5% off. Yesterday while walking a neighborhood, posting fliers I spoke to a man who wanted his roof done ASAP. As I was leaving I saw his Purple Heart state tag. I was actually going to surprise him with the final bill but he called and wanted to know the total so he could write a check and leave it with his wife since he would be gone. So, I told him to take another 5% off. He then told me he was a Vietnam Vet.

It has been a while ... but it looks like you robbed the baby bath for your spongy thingy?

We watch for couches that are set out on the side of the road for trash. Then we stop and grab the cushions, unzip the covers and toss the sponges in the truck.

Roofers use them to sit and nail. Keeps your can in place and creates some comfort from sitting all day. Keeps you from slipping mostly on steep roofs.

On a hot day it protects the shingles from you marking them up with your shoes.

I have gone to a junk yard and cut open old car seats, the 1970's truck bench seats come right out.

Have you ever had the heat kill your SH? Paint your holding tank with shiny silver spray paint. It will drop the temp as the silver reflects the suns heat. I did it last June and it makes a difference. Google radiant barrier paint as that is what they use in attics.

Good thinking Marcus, the best radiant barrier to look for is HeatBloc-75. I've used many of them over the years and this is one of the few I've truly been impressed with.

How are you able to see your mixture levels if it is all painted? Do you have a clear tube on the outside for mixing?

You run a 2" wide piece of maskin tape down the most visible sides of the tank and pull them off after the paint dries. I try to do it in the graduated areas of the tank.

Hey has anyone changed the valves on their compressor?

I went to Parker hoses and fittings and got 1/4 turn ball valves for my air release drains.

Some compressor come with them and some don't. They are an awesome thing to have though as opposed to the twisty headache caveman style release valves.
