Trigger setup or tri-banger with ball valve?

Gents, getting ready to order a setup....need some feedback.  Should I go with a gun/trigger setup or a ball-valve tri-banger nozzle setup?

Your thoughts.....

I use a ball valve with a j-Rod (quad-banger equivalent from another vendor).  I started off with a nice poly gun but it didn't last long Brandon.  The SH is very hard on poly.  It gets brittle and breaks.

One of the best things about the ball valve set up is that the parts can be purchased at Lowes or Home Depot, and they're so cheap that replacing them proactively makes sense.

Whichever route you go, I'd suggest keeping a complete spare or two on hand.

I started with a trigger and loved it, but it didn't last. The ball inside corroded quickly and that was the end. Ball valve with quad is easy and won't let you down.

Brandon,

Following along with everyone else, I use schd 80 ball valve and a tri-banger, works for me. A spare is always in the box.

There was just a thread in the paid forum about a new SH compatible gun and we found out some guys are using it and this thing has apparently been working well.

I have tried a few different guns and had some last a wee bit but that day comes and she starts leaking........its trouble.

But this gun is stainless and can last for a long time if you take care of it. So I hear, I haven't used it yet.

I use the RL 51 gun so far so good, I'm sure it will wear down at some point....
I like it because I'm used of using a pressure washer gun, it has the same style handle...

We use a ball valve and we carry extras because they ware out and break. I do not like using two hands for the on and off but you cant beat the price.

ST-2700 Suttner Easy-Pull Trigger gun (with stainless internal plumbing) and outfit it with a 24" stainless lance and stainless QC's on each end

I use both.  I use the Trigger Gun for smaller jobs and some tight hard reach places and the Ball Valve for the others.  90% is the Ball Valve

we use a 6 way poly gun sprayer from lowe's @ $2.97 ea. they last about 4-6 roofs.

I like that I have different settings to use like "flat" (wide open spraying pattern) "jet" (distance) and "shower" (close up, saturation)

What kind of spray patterns can you get from the "tri-banger"?

You're correct although the 0 tip is pretty much a jet spray at 65PSI/7GPM.

40s for the 12 volt rigs (Fatboy pump).  Give me a call next time you pass through Gainesville if you want.  I'll give you a 'tour' of my roof specific rig if you'd like.   Very simple, but very functional, thanks to the RCIA  smile

Can't answer your orifice question if you're running an air system though.  Someone else will chime in I'm sure.

Brandon,

We have had great success with a full port, 1/2" FPT, Sch 80, ball valve attached to a Tri banger that holds various nozzles. Our soft wash rig has a Allflo air diaphragm pump model AFKE038B3 which gets great distance in covering the roof nicely.

We are located in Harrisburg, NC not far from Charlotte Motor Speedway if ever over this way let me know & we would be happy to show our soft wash rig & share what we are using & our experiences.
