I use a ball valve with a quad banger set-up. works great.
Ditto...... I use ball valve with quad.
Branden, I wish you luck on getting your new setup together. The RCIA is a great Association, and has many great professionals helping each other with not only process/procedures, and setups but also with business ideas. You have come to the right place to help grow your business. I can tell you as your business grows, and you begin to share your ideas here it adds to the greater good of our Brotherhood. I hope to see you on as a member and to share ideas with you in the future.
I use a ball valve with a j-Rod (quad-banger equivalent from another vendor). I started off with a nice poly gun but it didn't last long Brandon. The SH is very hard on poly. It gets brittle and breaks.
One of the best things about the ball valve set up is that the parts can be purchased at Lowes or Home Depot, and they're so cheap that replacing them proactively makes sense.
Whichever route you go, I'd suggest keeping a complete spare or two on hand.
I started with a trigger and loved it, but it didn't last. The ball inside corroded quickly and that was the end. Ball valve with quad is easy and won't let you down.

There was just a thread in the paid forum about a new SH compatible gun and we found out some guys are using it and this thing has apparently been working well.
I have tried a few different guns and had some last a wee bit but that day comes and she starts leaking........its trouble.
But this gun is stainless and can last for a long time if you take care of it. So I hear, I haven't used it yet.

I use the RL 51 gun so far so good, I'm sure it will wear down at some point.... I like it because I'm used of using a pressure washer gun, it has the same style handle...
Here it is. This gun is actually on sale at sunbrite.
ST-2700 Suttner Easy-Pull Trigger gun (with stainless internal plumbing) and outfit it with a 24" stainless lance and stainless QC's on each end

Depends on what tips you have plugged into it. Gary
so.......you could have a 25, 45 degree tip or fan pattern. no jet like spray? what orifice opening are most guys using?
You're correct although the 0 tip is pretty much a jet spray at 65PSI/7GPM.
40s for the 12 volt rigs (Fatboy pump). Give me a call next time you pass through Gainesville if you want. I'll give you a 'tour' of my roof specific rig if you'd like. Very simple, but very functional, thanks to the RCIA
Can't answer your orifice question if you're running an air system though. Someone else will chime in I'm sure.
We have had great success with a full port, 1/2" FPT, Sch 80, ball valve attached to a Tri banger that holds various nozzles. Our soft wash rig has a Allflo air diaphragm pump model AFKE038B3 which gets great distance in covering the roof nicely.
We are located in Harrisburg, NC not far from Charlotte Motor Speedway if ever over this way let me know & we would be happy to show our soft wash rig & share what we are using & our experiences.
