I'd definitely like to attend provided I am able to. However surgery scheduled mid December could hold me back. Please let me know when you guys are thinking about getting together.
-Mike
Bill, and everyone else - anyway we could make this the 11th? I spoke to Mike F, and he'll be recovering from surgery on the 18th. The 11th works well for him though.
Gutterdog - you mentioned a sports bar. The good ones like Swee****er Tavern are so loud you can't her yourself think. With you and Brett / Blue Ridge being the masterminds behinds this, would you guys be up for a place that's a bit more quiet, but very cool and 'upscale'? I'm sure we'll have have LOTS to talk about, and this way we could hear each other
It's called Wellingtons at the Westfield Executive Conference Center in Chantilly.
Posh lobby, English style pub, rich wood panel interior, good eats, huge comfy chairs, 'billiard' tables and cold adult beverages for those so inclined. Oh yes, and you can actually hear people talk LOL. Just a thought gents - I'm open for anything.
I figured with the RCIA rollin' in to town, we should look for first class accommodations
*edit* to include room rate per Expedia - "from $99". If we decide that this is the place/route, I'll call them to see about an RCIA group rate discount for those that plan on spending the night in the area. FYI guys - this is a great place to bring the Mrs to.

Awesome!!! Affordable and upscale. I like it!
Make some great pics too! Hey Morgan, does Bill have any RCIA Banners hanging round? See if we can dress the place up a little for the day!

Ted, thanks for doing this part. I just checked the place out in Sterling right? They have a brewery too... I'm in! Looks like a place we all would like. So, the 11th is good for me now we have to pick a time. Mid afternoon for those who want to get back home at a reasonable time? Also, I know we have to be careful of the web addresses and links her but putting their web address would only bring more here. In that respect, not a bad thing. Is my brain working right?

Thoughts everyone?
Brett - it's in Chantilly, and no brewery. Sorry bud. LOL. It's within a couple miles of the freeway (66), which should mean easy access for folks coming from all directions.
I've heard it called the Westfield Conference Center and Marriot Westfields Resort and Conference Center just to name a few. Google either for additional info and pictures.
We need a head count as well as any how might want to stay over night. We will try to see if we can get group rates. Some can double up on rooms to reduce costs. There isn't a time picked yet but my thinking is somewhere around 1:00 - 2:00. That gives us pretty much the afternoon. We can cover a lot in 3 - 4 hours. Anybody have a preference? At that time of the day maybe we can pretty much have the place to ourselves (I think). Also, Ted mentioned there's a bunch to do locally for those who want to bring spouses. Maybe we can pass this on to the hotel as our first "annual" RCIA Mid-Atlantic winter meeting.

With Bill coming to the event it would deff make it more official!!! I like the idea!!!
I plan to attend and appreciate the efforts from those that have organized this round table. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone.
Have a safe Thanks Giving Weekend.
Excellent! I look forward to meeting you and the others Scott. Your SEO and use of Google promos is quite impressive (wink wink)
In the Premium Member's section, Dog (Mike) mentioned pulling an agenda together. I'll be glad to compile and distribute it, both in draft form and the final if everyone involved will contribute ideas and topics?
If that sounds amiable, should we address that via PM rather than the forum?
Thoughts please?
*edit* to include those that have posted saying they will (or try) to attend. Hopefully others will make it as well?:
**another edit** to add Ryan Freidline / the A Team
Michael Hockman
Phil Rogers
Chris Gunther
Brett Thompson
Bill (&Morgan?) Booz
Mike Fulton
Chet Eby
Scott Whitmer
Ted Saunders
Ryann Freidline

Well I would love to attend, but I just googled it and it is 558 miles from Louisville or about 9.5 hours. Too long of a drive by myself in the winter months. Have fun and learn from each other. Gary

Gary - I use to drive out your way (near Frankfort) for an annual hunting trip. Surely you can drive a 'few' miles for a RCIA get together? LOL.
Seriously, for anyone coming in from out of town, The Westfields Conference Center is a NICE place (spouses/GF would like it.) There's also lots to see and do in the area, including the new Air and Space Museum literally a few miles up the road.
Space Shuttle? They have one.
SR71 Blackbird (spy plane), yep, they have one of those too.
THE Enola Gay, B29 Superfortress - reason enough to go right there.

Let's get a head count of those that will stay over night. Even if it's a small amount we will try to get a better deal and tell the hotel this is our first annual that will only grow. Let's hope they do business like we do and look at it as a future relationship.
Ted is our man on the ground there and can offer all kinds of local information. I can't help much as I left the DC jungle in '85.
