Hi guys! My name is Joe and I am brand new to the business. Let me start out by saying that this is a really great forum. I am still learning about the process and willing to learn even more from you Pros on here.
Welcome Joe; You have started out right by introducing yourself and not asking questions like most new people. This is much appreciated.
Your plan of action should be as follow; Read all the posts until your eyes bleed Re-read all the posts again Keep notes on any questions you may have Use the search function to see if your question has been asked before and answered. I bet you it has! Then proceed to ask questions and everyone will be glad to help.
Become a "paid member" and enjoy the additional benefits. See the 2 different posts on the forum on how to join.
Welcome to RCIA and wishing you much success in your new business Gary
Thanks for the warm welcome! I have been reading tons and tons of great stuff on here. I picked up pretty quick on the search tool. I will try not to ask something that has been asked before. I do have a question that I havent seen yet! Is there really a certification process and if so, can you point me in that that direction?
Where in Houston are you Joe? There's several really good houstonians on here. I'm still learning the trade myself and this board is a wealth of knowledge!
Welcome to the board. Does your Board Name have anything to do with Kikkers? Here is my wife on hers....

Joe, I moved your post out of the "Certified Roof Cleaning Texas" forum and into the "Shingle Roof Cleaning Training Forum". Just be aware of the forum you are in when you begin a new post. Welcome to the RCIA!

I am glad to see that so many guys on here are open with the information. You guys have allready helped me a lot. How many guys would you say are working the Houston market?
It seems that there is plenty of room for friendly competition.
Nope we're full =).......................I think there's about 8-9 but only 3-4 that are really serious about it. Scott with Confident and Marcus with Katy Memorial are the two larger guys in our area that are on this board and both are good guys that are full of knowledge. Good luck in getting going. I've been in roofing for the most part of my life but this is an exciting trade that is only going to get better with everything the board is doing to further legitimize roof cleaning.
I was a roofer many years ago, so I have some knowledge in that area. I am actually an Engineer by trade. I became interested in this after having my roof cleaned several months ago. I have been trying to read and learn all that I can since then. I can tell you the method he used was not what seems to be the norm here. He was usuing a Pitch Witch. I have no i dea what chemicals he used.
I have a partner in this business and both of us are seeking knowledge in this field. We have filed our business name, but have not got a website going as of yet.
I hope to get to meet you and the other guys at some point to talk shop!
