Now that's a good question. Craig, have you come up with a name for your new company? How about you Travis? That's one of the first things you new guys need to do. Get your name established. If you get your officia business name on this board it will start helping you rank higher in local searches.
Come on now kids, play nice. I think craig is working on his company same as you are Travis. My dad always told me, "those who live in glass houses shouldnt throw stones."
I actually think the question was a good one. Getting started I took advice from people I THOUGHT were legit large companies, but turned out to be blowhards. It would have been nice to see other established companies opinion of others. Unfortunately, nobody, and rightly so, is willing to call out another company on here.
Travis, keep your interest up, don't get discouraged and you'll do fine. Pick a name. Any name, it doesn't matter. Call it Baird roof and exterior cleaning, then start signing up for the free Internet advertising and get your seo ready for the spring. You can do all this before buying even 1 piece of equipment or doing 1 job. But at least you have a presence before your season starts. And yes, this can be done without a website.
That was the first thing I did. Not to say that C&C is my final choice but it was the first thing I did when I became a member. As for a top 5. Only way to get hard evidence is to have companys post earnings and customer satisfaction surveys. I myself don't see this happening.
I certainly won't claim to be a top roof cleaning company but were just south of 200 clients so I think we got past the newbie stage, lol.

You can gross the highest number is the world, but if you don't profit, gross means nothing.
Nobody really know anything about anybody on this board. You can look the part and speak the part, but that doesn't mean you do the part. Don't get fooled into thinking people are the be all and end all in roof cleaning because of what you read on this board. Make yourself the best company in your area. If you are keeping busy and are getting enough referrals that you can't keep up with the work then I would say you are very successful. I have seen guys say they are the greatest company in the world only to find out that they are nothing more than low ball hacks. Don't get caught up in all of that. Instead, get caught up in being your own best company.

What classifies you as a top company?
Is it how much you gross?
Is it how much net profit you make?
Is it volume?
It is the ROI?
Is it perception?
Is it referrals?
Is it reputation?
Is it profitability?
