I didn't say HIGH pressure. I have used a pitch witch and know what kind of pressure they produce. He uses Renew from ace cleaning (makers of the pitch witch). It's no secret. It is applied With an jet or similar and "pitch witched off" (pressure cleaned).

Keep in mind you could hook a pitch witch up to a garden hose so does it turn into a high pressure apparatus then? I'm not saying his methods are right and yes I agree his methods aren't ARMA approved however he's got to be doing something right because GAF recommends his services on Stainguard warranty claims. I've personally inspected roofs after he's cleaned them and like I said I've personally been onsite while he's cleaning them and am extremely confident in saying he doesn't have near enough pressure coming out the tips on that pitch witch to cause any shingle damage.

I'm not trying to argue or defend his methods over anyone elses as when my company is up and running I will be following the methods taught here.

I just also think people become slightly blinded in there methods and develop a "only one right way" approach. You and others on this board preach ARMA approved but could you please show me anywhere in ARMA's technical bulletin that says to use Gription, hangtite, denatured alchohol, or anything for that matter OTHER than sodium hypochlorite and TSP? If your going to tout ARMA approved then follow it to the letter, not your own interpretation or variation of the guidelines.

Hey Chris, are you friends with AC? He said he had a friend in the woodlands that was in the roofing industry looking to get into roof cleaning....

I believe I'm who he's referring too but he's well traveled so there might be someone other than myself.

by using the pitch witch and rinsing off the chemical is this what keeps the vegitation from dying.. because he uses so much water..  or is renew just not as harsh of a chemical and safe for plants?

I actually can't say for sure. But it does take a lot of water to pitch witch a roof so that could be it. But if you use enough water and proper protection the plants are fine with our method too. Either way we both need 2 people on site to be OSHA compliant.
