Chris do you own the man lift or do you rent it ever time you need it.
We used to own them Chris, but found it better to just rent them as needed. Since we clean so many roofs in the Tampa area, I don't pay what some people do for them. Sure, we have the equipment to shoot a roof from a ladder, but some customers are uncomfortable with that, and really, so are we! A lift is the safest way to clean many roofs, and we use them often. I am going to make a seperate thread for this Church Roof we just cleaned, but here we are using a lift again, on a low pitch Metal Roof with standing seams. Even on a 4/12 pitch metal roof, they get really slick during cleaning, and one can wind up in Tampa General Hospital with a broken back real fast. Roof Cleaning is dangerous, so we try to sell each roof cleaning job the right way. If our roof cleaning customer is more concerned with a low price then our safety, we walk away.
Thank for that information I donot see many down here using lift for most the roof but you are right on the mark with that statement.
So many roof cleaning companies in tampa just trying to be cheaper then the next guy, and not listening to the customer. Some customers just don't want any walking on their roofs, for whatever reason, and will pay the extra charge for a manlift.
What happened to your name at the top of the board? Are you still the owner?
I started the Roof Cleaning Institute because I wanted to help others learn what I know about cleaning roofs. I think 90 percent of the people who learned to clean roofs here are extremely grateful for all the hard, unpaid work I have put it. But there are always disgtruntled, unhappy people who start rumors, with little or NO basis in fact! I started hearing "Chris from Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa only started the Roof Cleaning Institute to get hits for his website" ! That was a real slap in the face to me, and it really hurt. The truth of the matter is, since I made the RCIA Forum, my website has dropped in the rankings, because this Forum is displacing it! To avoid any more reasons for my disgruntled competitors to throw stones at me, I removed my website from the forum. BIG Mistake! You see, I have thousands of Indexed posts on this forum WITH my website appearing. Removing my web site hurt my Google ranking, in much the same way that removing someones signature links will do. Just as you can not buy 5000 links to your website w/o making Google angry, neither can you suddenly delete 3000 links by removing your website from the forum like I did, w/o hurting yourself in the search results.
