Now im starting to get nervous. Ive been using my aluminum titan for 2 1/2 years now and only had to rebuild the swivel 4-5 times. I NEVER rinse unless im doing maintenance and need to flush the system. Guess Ive gotten lucky so far. I also pull from the bottom bulk head and have never had a leak. Im one lucky SOB!!!

Yes, you are! I have NEVER gotten more then 6 to 8 months out of a Titan Hose Reel, the welds break on the manifolds. I may be because we use 36 inch Titans with big 5/8 hose that may be too freaking heavy for the Titan Manifolds ? We are busy,, and we don't funk around rolling up hose, getting it all nice, neat, and pretty, just to drive to the next job. That's why we buy 36 inch reels, so it dont have to go on there just so.

Ive been using a Summit reel for about 8 months. It has Stainless insides. No leaks yet but the reel itself is beginning to rust pretty good.

I bought two titans the other day to use with our pressure hose. They sure beat wrapping it up on stakes....

I JUST spoke to Lori's Mom Diane for about 10 minutes. Lori was not in yet, but she promised to have her call me back. That was an hour ago. I need another manifold to fix my reel. We already lost one job because of this, and are paying 225 dollars a day for a manlift. I had ONE last manifold left of the 3 I got from Lori less then a year ago! My main truck is fixed and working, but my second one is down. I NEED a manifold to fix my reel. IF Lori does not call me back by noon, I am calling Titan DIRECTLY, and pointing them to THIS Thread.

I've been using Hose tract since 2007. No problems yet.

I use poly banjo cam lock quick connects instead of swivels, because the stainless swivels don't last very long.

Maybe Hose tracts uses stainless steel welds Chris? Not sure.

LOL, NO one is "banning you" Lori, I am just pissed at the whole situation.
Lori just called, she sounded very busy, and is going to DRIVE over to Titan to get me a new manifold!
I asked her what happened to her yesterday, and she said "Chris, if I take time to explain to you, you will not have your new manifold"
She literally droppped all she was doing to go get me a new manifold! '
BTW, Titan closes at Noon on Fridays (today).
I think that's pretty dog gone good of Lori

Mark Teschler himself of Titan called ! He wants the failed manifold back so he can examine it under an Electron Miscrscope ! He promised to get to the bottom of this, and was very concerned.
It sure is nice when a major manufacturer of hose reels gives a funk about their customers!
And thank you Lori for relaying the info about the manifold failure to Mark!

It seems people using the titans with 1/2 inch hose are getting better life ?
Perhaps the added weight of the 5/8 hose is accelerating failure of the manifolds ?
Mark of Titan want to examine the WAY the welds are failing.

Thank you Lori for driving through an hour of tampa bay's toughest traffic!
I will send my employees to get it on Monday. The truck it is going on (our 2nd truck) is getting some work done on it, and will not be ready till Monday AM. It was supposed to be done this AM.
Mark from Titan is going to examine the broken manifold, and also some worn out reels we used for years before they died. He is on top of this situation, and I feel confident he will find a solution. THICK Stainless is pretty chlorine proof, it is the welds that are failing, so maybe all it will take is a second pass with the welding machine, lay some more stuff down ? Ask your Father his opinion Lori ? Your dad told me NOT to trash my old manifolds, he would get them welded, fixed as good as new! BTW, I need a manifold 90 degree coupler/elbow to go into the 5/8 hose I got from you with a male end on it.

Dejay, I am unsure if you know what we are talking about here. I am going to make it easy on you so that you do not have to use the search function on this board. I took several pictures of the brand new manifold that I picked up today and will show you a couple things to help you visualize.

The manifold runs through the center of the reel beneath the sch 40 core and could be considered the guts of the reel. It is the manifold is the majority of the wetted tract of the reel.

The pictures show Chris's new TT7037-0028 Stainless Steel manifold and various swivels and repair kits. (We have a new swivel arriving early this week that is PVC!!! These problems with leaky swivels will be a problem of the past!!!) The manifold is composed almost entirely of 303 grade stainless. The TIG (NOT MIG as stated earlier) weld that attaches the riser (right side of manifold) for the chemical hose to thread into uses 316 grade stainless wire.

This problem has absorbed 75% of my day.  Many of our current customers have called and inquired and have begun to doubt the quality of Titan Reels. One customer wanted to cancel his order that was already on the way. This has also prevented me from answering the phone and taking calls from customers. (And some people wonder why I have not called them back......this is one reason.)

Dejay, get Russ to drop the phone and drive down to Titan before they close on a Friday before noon. With that kind of effort involved, ask Russ how much that manifold is going to cost Chris?

I called and spoke with spoke with Russ in the spring sometime this year because for some reason he did not want to call me directly but rather ask a customer of ours to ask me a question and get back with him with the answer. (I am just a girl!) I felt that we had a good conversations and at one point he laughingly told me that 'everyone pays list price!' I was shocked at his statement. I was even embarressed to have heard Russ say something like that. We believe that our customers work extremely hard to put food on their tables and deserve the right to save money on their equipment. How dare make the assumption that a customer should always pay list? This is the United States of America, right? We love competition and we love having low prices.

For those of you that are not familiar with what it means to pay full list price, please see the example below.

A Titan Full Frame Aluminum Hose Reel with a Stainless Steel Manifold capable of holding 225' of 5/8" ID hose (4318S) lists for $540.

PWP's RCIA pricing is $334.80.

PWP saves you $205.20 over the list price. That is a nice chunck of change to KEEP in your pocket and not supply another distributor with a fat piggy bank or allow another distribributor to buy cat and dog food in your name as a tax write-off instead of feeding actual children in the US.

Yeah what ever you say Lori. Was that last part a stab at envirospec. Man you are just dogging everyone to make you self look good huh.

I wonder whether the inside of the manifold could be coated with something to keep the SH from contacting the metal.

Some kind of plastic? Maybe baked on enamel coating like some water bottles have? Must be something out there.

Hate to disagree with you but Lori ROCKS! Look at her pricing and the rest. And Lori is like family doing the best she can.

The RCIA has grown and so has guys building trailers. Everyone, including me, HAS to speak to Lori.

Look at it like this. I was so overloaded this spring and early summer. I was booked out over a month. 1 truck. And I had to be on every job. Customers were angry, we were working 7 days a week trying to get caught up, I lost some repeat customers. It was a disaster because I couldnt keep every single customer, or call happy. Made alot of money! Threw gutter cleans to one of my competitors. He was happy! While we did the bigger jobs. Next year 2 trucks. 2 trailers. Keep all the work we lost this year.

If you've been there you'll understand, if not get ready! That's how its gonna happen to you too.
