Guys I'm shopping for a trailer to set up my rig. Any recommendations on size? I want to be able to carry my 28 and 32 foot extention ladders on it as well as a 125 gallon tank (probably add another tank or upgrade that one later). I am considering a 14 footer. I don't want the ladders sticking off too much and the 32 footer is 16 foot when it's collapsed.
Secondly, what type of floor would be best....metal mesh or wood? I've seen where a lot of guys are running mats on the floor of the trailer so I want to make sure I do this right.
We use a 12 foot trailer. It holds a pressure washer (not for roof cleaning), a large toolbox, a 500 gallon tank, two 53 gallon drums, an air compressor, gas jugs and more. We did fabricate a steel frame that goes up and over all the equipment supporting ladders and hose reels. Our longer ladders do extend beyond the trailer but not a big deal. The longer the trailer, the harder to park, backup and just plain get around. Bigger is sometimes nicer. But everytime I say I need a bigger trailer, I just realize I have to simply clean and organize and magically I have more then enough room.
First thought: Do you need to carry around a 32' ladder all the time? Can you use it for special occasions, or do most of your jobs require that much reach?
I have found that wood holds up much better than metal. My buddy in the biz, and mentor, replaced his flooring with "TREX" decking and has had zero problems over the past 4 years. When the metal goes, it goes. The wood gives you a little warning at least before failure, and you can always shift your weight over a couple of boards in an emergency situation. Once the integrity of metal is compromised, its gone, and usually with catastrophic results.
If weight is a concern, get a double axle trailer. I do a lot of jobs for the county in parks with no water and have two 275 tanks. Sometimes I have to carry my own water to jobs, so I needed something "beefy" and got a 16 foot dual axle trailer. Its tough to find smaller trailer with two axles, but look around and you'll find a few.
If buying a used trailer, verify independently what size those axles are. Over the past few years, I've seen lots of trailers with only 1200-1600 LB single axles, which is not sufficient for carrying around a lot of liquid weight.

No that's a good point. I only need the 32 footer occasionally. God I hate that ladder! I use the 28' for almost everything. I'm going to invest in a 24' as well. They are so easy to carry.
Weve been using a 14 footer. It had plenty of room. We had a couple pressure washers a 525 gallon tank, a couple of small tanks, and roof cleaning equipment.
I just bought a 16 footer. I only went with the 16 because the price wasnt a whole lot different and I wanted room for more pressure washers.
Theyve both got wood floors.
We normally carry a 24' ladder. I have a 40' that we carry when needed. We just flag the end. I need to buy a 32 for everyday use.
