Apple cider mixed and applied correctly will show results almost immediately, literally.
If you don't see a difference in a few minutes, then you did something wrong.

well??? maybe i did the math wrong.. i took a 100 gal mix and made it to a 15 gal. mix. or maybe it was the chemicals i got from the store? not sure. I used outdoor SH and H2O, with apple dish soap(Ajax) and some70% ISP.. is that wrong? or does the mix have to be hot ..as in applied hot. i did it cold water and all! Help please i have a big motel job coming up and kinda wanted to use that mix!

Being a Newbie and seeing "read" sucks, but its the truth. There are a lot of questions that can be answered with a few clicks and a quick scan to the desired topic. Anyone that's been here for any length of time can quickly tell if someone's been putting in the time researching just by the questions they ask.

Something is NOT right. Your SH chemical isn't strong enough or your mix ratios are incorrect. My guess is your using sodium hypochlorite that is not strong enough probably 6% or less. If you used Apple Cider mix then everything should have worked fine and there would NEVER be a need for a surface cleaner! Do some research to see if you got the right chemicals and/or your mix ratios are correct. Hope this helps.

NOTE: SH does NOT = bleach, clorox, or anything you can buy at a big box D-I-Y store.
SH is purchased from Chemical suppliers that supply water treatment plants (Best quality -12.5 to 15% solution) or Large reputible pool supply houses (acceptable quality 10-12.5%)
Beware when buying from pool suppliers!
Some pool suppliers have sodium hydroxide and/or calcium chloride in their "pool" chlorine.
I only use ultra-pure Sodium Hypochlorite which is approved for drinking water purification. In bulk it runs me $1.28 a gallon.

That's the problem. The stuff from Home Depot will NOT work because it is not strong enough. Why are people scared of getting their roof cleaned? Just wondering. I would love to be in your position and have a chance to begin to educate those people about the benefits of roof cleaning.

You need to find a local chem supplier with fresh 12.5% SH. Some places will sell as little as 15gal or if your lucky single gallons. Costs a bit more but you don't have a lot of extra SH sitting around going bad.
So... They let you use a surface cleaner and I assume a pressure washer but are afraid of the same chemical that's in their drinking water?

Well you came to the right place. You will find a wealth of information on here. Basically, anything you need to know about roof cleaning. Start out at the roof cleaning chemicals page and learn about the different mixtures you can use. All are effective and safe to use. Then go and purchase the chemicals and create the mixture and test it on a friends roof. You'll be amazed! I promise you will! Good luck.

Spend a little time around here and you will learn a ton!
The spray rigs we use are going to be the way to get whatever chems you choose on the roof safely.
Education is the key. If they are afraid of Chlorine let them read the labels of other "eco" friendly cleaners. Most contain sodium Hydroxide which is far more damaging to the roof. Others that are truly safe are also basically non-effective or very expensive.
For example Essential Thyme oil and Iso work great for around $20.00 bucks a quart!!!!
